On Thursday, 10/24, the Redwolves JV volleyball team traveled to LCS to take on the Cougars and the Grass Lake Warriors. During the first match, Clinton went three sets with Grass Lake, eventually defeating them 25-16, 23-25, 15-9. Against LCS, it was an easy two set sweep 25-9, 25-14. Lila Kennedy caused havoc for the other teams with her challenging serves, scoring 25 points on the night, with 8 aces. Emily Farmer also found success serving, adding 14 pts., followed by Rylee Pepper with 12. The Redwolves were tough defensively, led by Sophomore Ashlynn Benschoter with 13 digs and Freshman Mya Popkey with 11. Lexi Tzortzinis, Leah Brown, and Lila Kennedy also added digs on the evening. At the net, Rylee Pepper and Bella Bannon took control, delivering 14 and 13 kills respectively to their opponents. Abby Sheneman added 9 kills and 6 blocks. The two wins were a team effort and increase their record to 35-4.

The Redwolves faced, and defeated a tough Ida team on 10/22 for their last home game of the season. In set 1, the Bluestreaks came out on top, winning 25-20. Set two was a battle, with the Redwolves winning 29-27, forcing a third set. With strong serving and offense, Clinton was able to take the set 15-7. Joslyn Kranz led the team at the net with 7 kills and 4 blocks. Zoey Utz had a great night as well, securing 5 more kills for the team. Abby Sheneman added 13 service points and Lila Kennedy contributed defensively with 8 digs. It was another great LCAA win for the Redwolves!
On 10/15, the Redwolves JV Volleyball team traveled to Hudson for an LCAA match-up. Clinton came out on top, winning in three sets: 24-26, 25-8, and 15-4. Leading scorers from the serving line were Emily Farmer(11), Lila Kennedy(10), and Mya Popkey(8). Running the offense for Clinton was Farmer, who earned 25 assists. The majority of these assists came from kills from Abby Sheneman(9), Josie Kranz(6), and Rylee Pepper(6). During the match, the Redwolves’ defense made it difficult for Hudon to score during the second and third sets. Starting at the net, Josie Kranz had 3 blocks and Erin Burton added 2 more. In the back row, Ashlynn Benschoter and Lila Kennedy had 12 digs a piece. The team continues to work hard in practice as they prepare for their last week of the season.
On October 12th, the Redwolves JV volleyball team competed at the county tournament, held at Adrian High School. The team ended the day with a 5-1 record, earning them 2nd place, behind a tough Tecumseh squad. During pool play, the Redwolves easily defeated LCS(25-16,25-17), Morenci(25-12,25-13), and Blissfield(25-7,25-19). The team entered bracket play ranked #1 and faced Sand Creek in the quarter finals, defeating them in three sets: 23-25, 25-9, 15-9. Next, they faced and defeated Onsted in the semi-finals 25-16, 25-22. The championship match was against Tecumseh. The Redwolves secured a win in the first set, 26-24. Tecumseh came back strong in the second set, winning 25-16. The third set was a thriller, going back and forth, point for point. In the end, the Redwolves fell short, 12-15. Rylee Pepper had a great day, finishing at the top of multiple stat categories. She led the team in points with 41 and finished second in digs(27) and tied for first in kills(21). Defensively, the team was led by Ashlynn Benschoter with 32 digs and Emily Farmer with 24. Farmer led the offense, collecting 44 assists. At the net, Joslyn Kranz contributed 21 kills and had 8 blocks. Bella Bannon had 19 kills. Abby Sheneman had 16 kills, 3 blocks, and also scored 37 serving points. Clinton’s young JV team has much to be proud of as they head into the last two weeks of their season with a 31-4 record.
On 10/8, the Redwolves JV squad swept Hillsdale 25-8 and 25-10. It was a team effort with many girls switching up their positions. Emily farmer led the team offensively with 17 assists and 14 service points. Lila Kennedy added 9 service points. Ashlynn Benschoter covered a lot of ground in the back row, picking up 14 digs. In the front row, Rylee Pepper racked up 9 kills, followed by Abby Sheneman with 6 and Erin Burton with 5.
The JV Redwolves volleyball team traveled to Dansville to compete in their 14-team tournament. After a long, 6-match day of play, the Redwolves came home with the championship! To start the day, the team faced Dansville, defeating them 25-18, and 25-7. Waverly was also taken down easily, 25-9, and 25-16. Their last match in pool play was against Leslie. Clinton handled them easily the first set 25-9, but fell short in the second set, 21-25. Even with a 1-set loss to Leslie, Clinton came out 1st overall in pool play. In the quarterfinals, the team faced Napoleon, and came out on top 25-11, 25-19. East Lansing was their opponent in the semifinals and the Redwolves defeated them 25-22, 25-19. In the finals, Clinton faced Fowler, who was the tournament champs last year. The Redwolves won the first set easily 25-16, but Fowler put up a fight in the second set making it a little more challenging. Clinton still came out on top, winning the final set of the day 27-25.
Consistency from the service line helped Clinton have an edge against their opponents throughout the day. Lila Kennedy led the efforts with 54 points and 23 aces. Abby Sheneman contributed 32 points and Emily Farmer added 26. At the net, Rylee Pepper had a great day, leading the team with 24 kills. Bella Bannon had 20 kills with Sheneman adding 18. Joslyn Kranz and Melanie Lukas followed with 17 each. In the back row, Ashlynn Benschoter worked hard, earning 46 digs on the day. Emily Farmer was next with 15 digs and Mya Popkey added 14.
The JV squad maintains a 25-3 record as they head into the last few weeks of their season.
The JV Redwolves volleyball team faced a tough Onsted team on Tuesday night. With consistency in their defense and smart plays offensively, they were able to sweep the Wildcats 25-21 and 25-23. From the service line, Rylee Pepper led the team with 9 points. Following closely behind was Emily Farmer with 7. Onsted's scrappy play made it difficult for Clinton to score at times, but the Redwolves played smart and fine gaps in their defense. Leading the way was Melanie Lukas with 5 kills. Bella Bannon, Zoey Utz, Joslyn Kranz, Erin Burton, and Abby Sheneman each contributed 3 kills. Ashlynn Benschoter worked hard in the back row, earning 14 digs in the two sets while Melanie Lukas had 8 and Lila Kennedy had 7.
On 9/28, the JV Redwolves volleyball team competed in the Onsted Invitational, dominating in both pool and bracket play, bringing home the first place trophy! After playing for a few weeks without a full roster, the team was finally back and ready to compete. The Redwolves faced and defeated Chelsea(25-12, 25-19, 25-17) and Addison(25-20, 25-12, 25-4) in pool play. After pool play, Clinton was seeded 1st heading into the gold bracket. After a bye in the quarter finals, they faced Adrian in the semi-finals, winning both sets 25-15 and 25-7. In the finals, the Redwolves faced Onsted, who was also undefeated on the day. It was a tough battle, with many momentum shifts throughout the three sets. With a strong offense and solid defense, the Redwolves came away with the win: 25-16, 22-25, 16-14.
It was an incredible team effort on the day, with all players contributing to the tournament win. At the net, Zoey Utz and Abby Sheneman led with 23 kills a piece, followed by Melanie Lukas with 18 and Bella Bannon with 16. Scoring leaders for the team were Emily Farmer with 42, Lukas with 34, and Lila Kennedy with 32. Ashlynn Benschoter was on fire in the back row, racking up 47 digs on the day. Melanie Lukas and Rylee Pepper also contributed defensively with 16 and 13 digs respectively.
The team will face Onsted again on Tuesday and then head to Dansville on Saturday for their tournament.
On 9/24, the Redwolves JV Volleyball team traveled to Dundee for an LCAA match-up. Clinton came out on top, winning in two sets, 25-6 and 25-15. The Redwolves excelled defensively, making it difficult for the Vikings to score. Lila Kennedy led with 10 digs, followed by Lexi Tzortzinis with 7 and Ashlynn Benschoter and Rylee Pepper with 6. Abby Sheneman was a force at the net with 2 huge blocks on the night. Offensively, Kennedy led from the serving line with 12 pts., while Benschoter added 8. Melanie Lukas and Rylee Pepper ran the offense, providing opportunities for our hitters to score. Zoey Utz led from the outside with 5 kills and Erin Burton had 4.
Redwolves JV Volleyball was on the road last night, and defeated the Blissfield Royals in two quick sets: 25-15, 25-14). The Redwolves serves and offense were too tough for the Royals to handle. Led by Rylee Pepper with 15 assists, she connected with Joslyn Kranz for 6 kills. Zoey Utz earned 5 kills, while Bella Bannon added 4 and Abby Sheneman 3. At the service line, Bannon scored 8 points with 4 aces and Erin Burton contributed 4 pts. with 2 aces. The team also had a successful night defensively. Ashlynn Benschoter and Lexi Tzortzinis had 4 digs a piece. The team’s record stands at 12-3.
The Redwolves JV volleyball team hosted Tecumseh on Thursday 9/12. Despite being down 3 key players, the Redwolves battled through 4 sets against the tough, undefeated Tecumseh team. The scores for each set were 25-21, 20-25, 23-25, and 16-25. Each player contributed in the match, with many playing out of their normal position. Lila Kennedy and Rylee Pepper led the offense with 7 assists each. Leading attackers were Bella Bannon and Abby Sheneman with 6 kills a piece. Erin Burton added 5. Defensively, the Redwolves made it very difficult for Tecumseh. Ashlynn Benschoter tallied 19 digs with Bella Bannon and Rylee Pepper each adding 10.
On 9/10, Clinton continued their season with a home match against the Trojans from Madison. The Redwolves dominated in both sets, winning 25-6 and 25-9. Tough serving from the Redwolves put Madison in trouble early. Leading scorers were Lila Kennedy with 19 pts, 8 aces and Ashlynn Benschoter with 14 pts, 5 aces. Offensively, the team took advantage of every returned ball. Rylee Pepper ran the offense with 11 assists. Erin Burton led with 5 kills. Bella Bannon added 4, with Abby Sheneman and Zoey Utz contributing 3 each.
The team continues their season on Thursday at home against Tecumseh.
On 9/7, the JV Redwolves volleyball team competed in the Napoleon Quad. The squad defeated Summerfield(25-9, 25-12) and Fremont(25-11, 25-23), but fell to Napoleon in three sets(25-15, 23-25, 13-15). The Redwolves showed great strength offensively, led by Bella Bannon with 20 kills. Erin Burton had a great day with 12 kills, followed by Abby Sheneman with 11. Melanie Lukas and Lila Kennedy led in assists with 40 and 9 respectively. At the service line, Lukas led with 19 points followed by Rylee Pepper with 11 and Ashlynn Benschoter with 10. Benschoter also led the team defensively. She tallied 23 digs on the day. Lexi Tzortzinis had 17 digs and Bella Bannon had 15.
The JV Redwolves volleyball team traveled to Bedford on Thursday, September 5th. The team came away 3-0 on the evening, defeating two class A schools and one class B school: New Boston(25-14, 25-11), Bedford(25-15, 25-20), John Glenn(25-3, 25-9). Coach Kranz connects the wins directly to the teams’ hard work in practice and their understanding that each player has a role and responsibility in helping the team succeed. Offensively, the Redwolves were unstoppable! Joslyn Kranz and Bella Bannon led the team with 10 and 8 kills respectively. Rylee Pepper, Erin Burton, and Abby Sheneman contributed 7 each. Melanie Lukas recorded 30 assists on the night. Serving was another successful area for the team. Lukas and Sheneman both served 18 points, while Lila Kennedy had 16 and Lexi Tzortzinis had 14. Tzortzinis served 100% on the night with Abby Sheniman and Joslyn Kranz earning 7 aces each.
The defense also had a great evening, playing some tough attacks, especially from Bedford. Lila Kennedy and Melanie Lukas led with 13 digs each. Ashlynn Benschoter tallied 12 digs and had 90% serve receive accuracy!
The team holds a 10-1 record as they head into the weekend, where they will travel to Napoleon for another quad. Their first home LCAA match is this coming Tuesday, September 10th. We hope to see a big crowd out supporting the team!
The Clinton Redwolves JV volleyball team put on a show at their home quad on Saturday, August 25, delivering a series of impressive performances that saw them emerge victorious in all three of their matches, defeating Homer (25-22 and 25-13), Ypsi Lincoln (25-20 and 25-12), and Michigan Center (25-11 and 25-12).
The Redwolves dominated the net with powerful kills that proved too much for the defense to handle. Abby Sheneman (17) Rylee Pepper (15) and Zoey Utz (14) led the offense in kills. With pinpoint accuracy to their hitters, setters Emily Farmer (41) and Melanie Lucas (20) led the team in assists. Leading the way with service points were Farmer (26) and Lila Huston-Kennedy (21).
Making key saves and keeping the ball in play, the defense used their speed and quickness to keep opponents’ points off the board. Leading the way were Ashlynn Benschoter and Emily Farmer with 14 digs each.
After three play dates, the team maintains a 7-1 record.
The Clinton Redwolves JV volleyball team had a spectacular showing on Friday, August 23, as they traveled to Napoleon for a series of matches. The Redwolves showcased their skills and determination, securing impressive victories against both Napoleon, 25-13 and 25-12 and Lumen Christi, 25-14 and 25-10.
Ashlynn Benscoter, Lexi Tzortzinis and Lila Huston-Kennedy led the defense with 13, 12, and 10 digs, respectively. The Redwolf offense was powered by Abby Sheneman - 9 kills, Erin Burton and Josie Kranz - 7 kills, and Rylee Pepper - 6 kills. Assisting in those kills were Emily Farmer - 27 assists and Melanie Lucas - 11 assists. Farmer - 25 and Lucas - 11 also led in service points.
The Redwolves’ successful day in Napoleon reflects their hard work and preparation. With standout performances across the board, the team has demonstrated their capability to compete at a high level. As they continue their season, Clinton’s JV volleyball squad will look to build on this strong performance and maintain their momentum.
On Thursday, August 22, the Clinton Redwolves JV volleyball team kicked off their season as they took to the road for a challenging series of matches in Tecumseh, facing off against Lenawee Christian, Dexter, and Ypsi Lincoln.
The Redwolves opened the day with a strong performance against Lenawee Christian, emerging victorious in a hard-fought match winning in 2 sets, 25-11 and 25-21. This match marked new JV coach, Erica Kranz’s, first win with the Clinton Redwolves.
In their second match, the Redwolves faced a tough Dexter team. Despite their best efforts, Clinton fell short, dropping both sets, 13-25 and 24-26.
In the final match against Ypsi Lincoln, Clinton's resolve was evident. The Redwolves rebounded with a decisive win, beating Lincoln in 2 sets, 25-14 and 25-10.
The offense was led in kills by Melanie Lucas (12), Rylee Pepper (11), Josie Kranz (8) and Abby Sheneman (7). Rylee Pepper and Ashlynn Benschoter also made their mark as the team’s dig leaders with 14 apiece. Assist leaders on the day were Emily Farmer (30) and Melanie Lucas (14.) Farmer also led the team in service points (29) followed by Lila Huston-Kennedy (11).
