Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball vs. Multiple Opponents

On October 12th, the Redwolves JV volleyball team competed at the county tournament, held at Adrian High School. The team ended the day with a 5-1 record, earning them 2nd place, behind a tough Tecumseh squad. During pool play, the Redwolves easily defeated LCS(25-16,25-17), Morenci(25-12,25-13), and Blissfield(25-7,25-19). The team entered bracket play ranked #1 and faced Sand Creek in the quarter finals, defeating them in three sets: 23-25, 25-9, 15-9. Next, they faced and defeated Onsted in the semi-finals 25-16, 25-22. The championship match was against Tecumseh. The Redwolves secured a win in the first set, 26-24. Tecumseh came back strong in the second set, winning 25-16. The third set was a thriller, going back and forth, point for point. In the end, the Redwolves fell short, 12-15. Rylee Pepper had a great day, finishing at the top of multiple stat categories. She led the team in points with 41 and finished second in digs(27) and tied for first in kills(21). Defensively, the team was led by Ashlynn Benschoter with 32 digs and Emily Farmer with 24. Farmer led the offense, collecting 44 assists. At the net, Joslyn Kranz contributed 21 kills and had 8 blocks. Bella Bannon had 19 kills. Abby Sheneman had 16 kills, 3 blocks, and also scored 37 serving points. Clinton’s young JV team has much to be proud of as they head into the last two weeks of their season with a 31-4 record.
