On Thursday, August 22, the Clinton Redwolves JV volleyball team kicked off their season as they took to the road for a challenging series of matches in Tecumseh, facing off against Lenawee Christian, Dexter, and Ypsi Lincoln. 

The Redwolves opened the day with a strong performance against Lenawee Christian, emerging victorious in a hard-fought match winning in 2 sets, 25-11 and 25-21.  This match marked new JV coach, Erica Kranz’s, first win with the Clinton Redwolves.

In their second match, the Redwolves faced a tough Dexter team. Despite their best efforts, Clinton fell short, dropping both sets, 13-25 and 24-26.

In the final match against Ypsi Lincoln, Clinton's resolve was evident. The Redwolves rebounded with a decisive win, beating Lincoln in 2 sets, 25-14 and 25-10.

The offense was led in kills by Melanie Lucas (12), Rylee Pepper (11), Josie Kranz (8) and Abby Sheneman (7).  Rylee Pepper and Ashlynn Benschoter also made their mark as the team’s dig leaders with 14 apiece.  Assist leaders on the day were Emily Farmer (30) and Melanie Lucas (14.)  Farmer also led the team in service points (29) followed by Lila Huston-Kennedy (11).
