Girls Middle School Basketball vs. Onsted Community High School

The Clinton 8th grade girls basketball team finished their season on a winning note as the Redwolves defeated the Onsted Wildcats 13-9.
Clinton finished with a 5-5 record in the LCAA.
Coach Cornish would like to thank her team for all their hard work and for their dedication to Clinton Basketball.

In Girls Basketball action last night the 8th grade team defeated the Hudson Tigers by the score of 21-16. The Redwolves capture 2 of 3 first half quarters and come out for the second half on fire to increase their lead by 4. The point guards were able to get many steals and converted to easy fastbreak layups. Clinton controlled the free throw free in the fourth quarter converting 3 of 4 while Hudson missed 13 attempts. Clinton now stands at 4-5 in the. LCAA and will face the Onsted Wildcats on Wednesday.

Ashlynn Benschoter led the Redwolves with 13 points, 5 steals, 4 assists and 4 rebounds.
Lola Szczesniak followed with 10 points and 8 rebounds.
Avery Loftis had 6 points, 5 steals and 4 rebounds
Kaylin Sposite led the team with 12 rebounds 7 steals and had 4 points.

The Clinton 8th grade girls basketball team traveled to Blissfield on Wednesday. The Redwolves put up a good battle in the first half winning a quarter and tying another. But, Blissfield’s sharpshooters took over in the third quarter and never looked back as they defeated the Redwolves 29-14.

Ashlynn Benschoter led the Redwolves with 7 points 6 steals 3 rebounds and 2 assists
Lola Szczesniak followed with 7 points 8 rebounds and 1 assist
Kaylin Sposite had 4 points 6 rebounds and 1 assist
Morgan Huggins had 4 points and 2 rebounds
Avery Loftis had 3 points 4 rebounds 4 steals and 2 assists
Nora Pelletier had 1 point 3 steals and 1 rebound
MaeLynn Williams had 2 steals 1 rebound
Clinton’s record is 3-5 in the LCAA and will end their season next week with 2 home games against Hudson and Onsted.

Clinton 8th grade girls basketball team got back on the court after a long delay as they played host to the Columbia Central Golden Eagles. Clinton won 1 quarter and tied another quarter in the first half as they were tied 1-1 coming out of halftime.
The Redwolves did a great job driving to the basket to get the fouls but had a tough time at the free throw line only converting 7 out of 21 shots. Coach Cornish was pleased with the team’s overall performance as they were competitive for 4 quarters, but the Golden Eagles hung onto to slight lead and won the game 19-26.

Clinton now stands at 3-4 and will travel to Blissfield on Wednesday to battle the Royals.

The Clinton 8th grade girls basketball team had a successful outing Wednesday night as the Redwolves defeated the Hillsdale Hornets 19-4. Clinton captured all 3 first half quarters by scoring a season high 20 first half points.
The Redwolves added their full court press in the third quarter to make some quick baskets and continued to cruise to a 19-4 win over the Hillsdale Hornets.

Kaylin Sposite led the Redwolves with a Double-Double 22 points and 10 rebounds 5 steals and 2 assists
Avery Loftis had 4 points 5 rebounds 10 steals 3 assists
Kyra Hendrick has 4 points 3 rebounds and 1 steal

Nora Pelletier had 2 points 3 rebounds and 3 assists
Clinton raised their record to 3-3 and will travel to Ida next Wednesday.

It was a long night for the 8th grade girls basketball team as Hudson Tigers defeated the Redwolves 9-21. Clinton was able to win 1 in the first half quarters, but the Redwolves ran out of gas in the second half.
The Middle school team is on the road again Wednesday night as they will battle the Hillsdale Hornets.
Clinton now stand at 2-3 in the LCAA

The Clinton 8th grade girls Basketball team ran into a sharp shooting Blissfield Royal squad last Wednesday night as they defeated the Redwolves by the score 29-11.
Clinton was hitting their shots early in the first two quarters, but the Royals quickly added to their points. During the second half the Redwolves generated a few points off of their full court press, but Clinton didn’t have an answer for the Royals accurate outside shooting.
Clinton now stands at 2-2 in the LCAA and will travel to Hudson on Monday

The Clinton girl’s basketball team suffered their first setback of the season as the Columbia Central Golden Eagles defeated the Redwolves 26-10. Clinton played very well in the first half winning 2 of 3 quarters. Coach Cornish said their full-court press was their offense as Clinton could not get the ball past half court at times during the second half. The Redwolves will get back to business on Wednesday with a home match up with the Blissfield Royals. Clinton now stands at 2-1 in the LCAA.

The Clinton 8th grade girls Basketball team improved their record to 2-0 as they defeated the Ida Bluestreaks 14-12.
Clinton dominated the first half by winning 2 of the 3 quarters.
During the second half the Redwolves maintained a slight lead into the fourth quarter. The Bluestreaks picked up momentum in the fourth quarter but Clinton put in the final basket as the time ran out on the visiting Bluestreaks and Clinton Redwolves won the contest by 2 points.

Lola Szczesniak led all scores with a double- double with 12 points and 10 rebounds and collected 9 steals.
Kaylin Sposite followed with 6 points, 8 rebounds and 10 steals
Ashlynn Benschoter had 5 points 5 rebounds and 2 steals.
Avery Loftis had 2 points, 3 steals and 2 rebounds.
Morgan Huggins and Nora Pelletier each collected 4 steals.
Clinton now stands at 2-0 in the LCAA and will take on Columbia Central on Monday.
Girls Middle School Basketball vs. Dundee Community High School

The Clinton 8th grade Girls Basketball team won their first game of the season by defeating the Dundee Vikings 20-10.
The Redwolves came out hot in the second half scoring 15 points off of their full-court press. Dundee started scoring in the fourth quarter after a cold scoring spurt by the Redwolves. Coach Cornish proud of the team’s performance and will compete against Ida on Wednesday for their home opener.
