Clinton 8th grade girls basketball team got back on the court after a long delay as they played host to the Columbia Central Golden Eagles. Clinton won 1 quarter and tied another quarter in the first half as they were tied 1-1 coming out of halftime. 

The Redwolves did a great job driving to the basket to get the  fouls but had a tough time at the free throw line only converting 7 out of 21 shots. Coach Cornish was pleased with the team’s overall performance as they were competitive for 4 quarters, but the Golden Eagles hung onto to slight  lead and won the game 19-26.

Team Highlights

Kaylin Sposite led the team with 13 points, 15 rebounds and 7 steals 2 assists

Ashlynn Benschoter had 8 points 6 steals 3 rebounds and 1 assists 

Lola Szczesniak had 6 points with 8 rebounds 

Avery Loftis had 4 points and 5 rebounds and 2 steals

Nora Pelletier had 2 assists and 1 rebound 

Aislinn Tripp had 1 rebound 

MaeLynn Williams had 1 steal
 

Clinton now stands at 3-4 and will travel to Blissfield on Wednesday to battle the Royals.
