The 7th Grade Clinton Redskins concluded their 2018 Middle School Season on Wednesday against the Milan Big Red with a 16-0 Victory.  The game moved the Young Redskins record to an undefeated 6-0 record on the season.

The highlights of the game on the offensive side of the ball were Joey Preston carrying the ball 12 times for 60 yards a touchdown and 2 Extra Point conversions.   Nik Shadley had 9 carries for 85 yards.  Connor Younts had 2 carries for 16 yards and a touchdown, while Jacob Rothman had 2 carries for 5 yards and Seth Root had 1 carry for 3 yards.  Nik Shadley also added a 30 yard punt return, while Connor Younts had a 28 yard kickoff return.  The offensive line of Bryce Rosacrans, Brandon Johnson, Wyatt Hicks, Maurice Ames, Teddy Pizio, Trevor Gittings, Jack Gilroy, Justin Galley, Jared Couture, Aiden Weaver, Jacob Funchion and Faith Blackburn pushed the Young Redskins to 160 yards of game controlling  rushing attack as they have all season.  On the offensive side of the ball the battery of Coy Perry at Quarterback and Maurice Ames at centerhave been nearly flawless executing the offense snaps and leading the team from the start to finish.

On the defensive side of the ball the Redskins had to contain a super quick Big Red backfield making a goal line stand at the end of the first half that ended up preserving the shutout.  Leading the team on defense was Teddy Pizio with 6 tackles, Joey Preston and Nik Shadley also added 5 tackles.  Coy Perry and Connor Younts added 3 tackles, while Brandon Johnson and Jacob Rothman added 2.   Seth Root Wyatt Federer and Dylan Badge also tallied a tackle in the game, with Wyatt Federer adding a pass breakup.  Nik Shadley also recovered a fumble.

These young men began conditioning in Early August and have put in a tremendous amount of work throughout the season and are to be commended for their efforts.  The future is bright for this group and they will be ready to attack the 2019 season as 8thGraders.  Congratulations on a job well done  young men.
