CoEd Varsity Track vs. Multiple Opponents

The Clinton Varsity Co-ed Track teams competed at the TCC Championship in Morenci on May 23rd and the following results were turned in. For the girls, Amanda Schaare dominated the shot put with a throw of 38-7 and discus throwing 140-7 both good for gold medal status. The 1600m relay team of Tessia Struck, Megan Arntz, Paige Studnicka and Lindsey Burton brought home gold as well with a time of 4:37.  Struck took 5th in the 100m (13.6) and 200m (29.4), Burton was third in the 400m (1:06.2), Ali Elwart placed 6th in the 800m (2:47) and 1600m (6:20), Alissa King placed third in the 3200m (14:11) while teammate Makayla Fletcher placed 4th (14:22), 400m relay team of Studnicka, Arntz, Burton and Struck placed third (54.4), and the 3200m relay team of Elwart, King, Fletcher and Ashley Bouse placed fourth (11:55). The girls scored 62 points overall to finish third on the day behind Adrian-Madison and Sand Creek. For the boys, the 800m relay team consisting of Alex Wylie, Noah DeShano, Colton Freeman and Trevor Underwood took gold with a time of 1:33.4. The 400m relay team of Wylie, Clay Langer, DeShano,and Freeman placed fourth (46.7), 3200m relay team of Tyler Szczepanski, Ryan Skiff, Nate Chavez and Christian Minard placed fifth (9:31) and the 1600m relay team of Szczepanski, Skiff, Cooper Renaldi and Lucas Crumb came home third (3:45). Freeman took sixth in the 100m (12.2), DeShano 4th in the 200m (24.8), Underwood fifth in the 200m (26.5), Szczepanski second in the 400m (54.9), Underwood third in the 400m (55.5), Minard fifth in the 3200m (11:29), Crumb was second in the 110 high hurdles (15.6) and second in the 300 hurdles (42.3). In the field events, Renaldi finished third in the high jump (5-6), Orion Ferrell 4th in the high jump (5-4), Langer second in the long jump (19-2), and Conner Brodie second in the shot put (43-8). The boys scored 86 points on the day good for a third place finish behind Adrian-Madison and Morenci. The season wraps up next week with the annual Lenawee County Championships and MHSAA D3 State Championships.
