CoEd Varsity Track vs. Multiple Opponents

The Clinton Co-ed varsity track program competed at the Sand Creek Hinsdale Invitation on Friday April 27 with the girls team placing 4th and the boys team placing 2nd. The following performances were turned in led by Amanda Schaare sweeping the Discus (138-3) and the shot put (41-9) while Steven Posa had a gold medal for the boys in the discus with a throw of 125 feet, a seasons best. In addition to Schaare, the girls got a 3rd place finish in the 3200m relay led by Ali Elwart, Alissa King, Lindsay Burton and Chelsea Scheffler with a time of 11:46. The 400m relay team of Paige Studnicka, Megan Arntz, Burton and Tessia Struck (56.8) and 1600m relay of Burton, Scheffler, Struck and Arntz (4:53) each placed fourth while Alissa King had a fourth place finish in the 1600m run (6:29). On the boys side, the 800m relay team consisting of Alex Wylie, Noah DeShano, Colton Freeman and Trevor Underwood took home gold with a time of 1:36. The 400m relay team of Wylie, Freeman, Underwood and DeShano placed third (47.8) and the 1600m relay team of Tyler Szczepanski, Lucas Crumb, Ryan Skiff and Noah Smith placed third as well with a time of 3:48. The 3200m relay team of Szczepanski, Nate Chavez, Christian Minard and Smith also came home in third with a time of 9:10. Conner Brodie had a seasons best throw of 44 feet 5 inches good for second place and Cooper Renaldi tied for second with a jump of 5-4. Crumb placed second in the 300m hurdles (44.4) and third in the 110 hurdles (15.5) while DeShano took third in the 200m (24.6). Noah Smith and Alex Wylie had 4th place finishes with Smith running the 800m in 2:12 and Wylie the 200m in 24.88. The girls accumulated 44 points (4th place) and the boys 84 (2nd place) while Dundee's girls (176) and Boys (142) won the invitation.
