The Clinton 7th grade volleyball team had a tight  contest  against the Blissfield Royals Monday evening. The Redwolves had a slow start but they were able to put together a few runs with aggressive net play and great serving to capture the first set 25-21.

During the second set Blissfield’s servers were very consistent and made it tough for the Redwolves to start their  offense and they dropped the second set 9-25.

In the 3 and final set Clinton did a great job on their serving late in the game to tie the contest at 24-24 but it was the Royals that pulled out the victory.24-26.

Team Highlights:

Ashlynn Benschoter had 11 service points 6 were Aces and 1 Assist

Kylinn Long had 10 service points 8 were Aces and  1 Assist 

Avery Loftis had 5 service points 4 were Aces and 1 Kill

Kaylin Sposite had 2 points 1 Ace and 1 Kill

Abi Ureche had 2 points 1 Ace

Emma Pask had 1 point

Abby Martinez had 1 Kill

Tianna Hernandez had 1 kill

Clinton 7th graders are 2-1 in the LCAA and will travel to Ida on Wednesday to take on the Bluestreaks

8th grade Volleyball 

On Monday September 27, the Clinton 8th Grade Volleyball team defeated the Blissfield Royals on the road with scores of 10-24, 25-14, and 25-16.  Clinton was led by setter Megan Hammarberg’s nine service points and 5 aces.  Other scorers included Annabell Preston with seven points (5 aces), Gabbi Pearce with 5 points (1 ace), Korynn Allen with 5 points (1 ace), Riley Roberts with 3 points (3 aces), Jackie Whiting with 2 points (1 ace), and Lila Randall, Emma Neff, Ava Ostrander, and Cora Harsh all contributed 1 point.  

Megan Hammarberg, Korynn Allen, and Brailey Gibson led the team in serve reception.  Korynn Allen did a great job of setting the ball. She led the team with 5 assists.  Jackie Whiting showed no mercy at the net registering 5 kills on the night.  Finnley Faulkner, Riley Roberts, and Cora Harsh each added a kill a piece.    Clinton travels to face the Ida Bluestreaks on Wednesday, September 29th.    The team is currently 3-0 in the LCAA.
