The 7th grade ended their season with the pink-out and a win against Dundee! The scores were 25-10, 25-12, and 25-15. All of the 7th graders showed great growth this season. It was apparent that their hard work in practice made them stronger. Addison Loftis with 14 points (8 aces), Brooklynn Kranz with 13 points (9 aces), Kylie Hicks with 10 points (7 aces), Zoey Riddle with 5 points, Josslyn Handy with 3 points, Amelia Harsh, Leea Ureche, and Mia Casey with 2 points, Ella Wollett and CC Carruba with 1 point a piece. The 7th grade team went 9-1 this season and are the LCAA champions.
The 8th volleyball team ended their season with an impressive win over a tough Dundee team. They swept the Vikings 25-20, 25-22, 25-6. After being down 13-3 to start off the first set, the Redwolves maintained their composure and battled back to win. Rylee Pepper’s serving sparked the comeback during that first set. She ended the night with 8 points(2 aces). Sunny Sachin also contributed 8 points(2 aces), with Lexi Tzortzinis following close behind with 7 points(3 aces). Josie Kranz, Erin Burton, and Kalli Jarrell each contributed 5 points(2 aces). Smart, aggressive play at the net allowed the Redwolves to stay on top during the next two sets. Erin Burton led the attack with 7 kills. Abby Sheneman, Josie Kranz, and Rylee Pepper contributed 5 kills a piece, while Sunny Sachin added 3.
The team ends their season undefeated with a 10-0 record and being LCAA Champs. In their 7th and 8th grade seasons combined, they also have an undefeated record going 20-0 with two LCAA Tournament Championships. Coach Kranz had this to say about the team, “It has been a privilege to coach these ladies for 2 consecutive seasons. Their athleticism, willingness to work hard, and love of the game has led to their continued success. They are the future of our program and I look forward to watching them in the following years!”
