Friday, Oct. 6th the Clinton Varsity Football Team traveled to Onsted for an LCAA contest. Clinton was up 60-6 at halftime and finished the game winning 66-20.  Clinton improved its overall record to 6-1 on the year.  Clinton rushed for 367 yards on 39 attempts and passed for 185 yards on the night, for a total of 552 yards of offense.  The first touchdown was pushed through by Jake Felts from 4 yards out, followed by Cole Breitenwischer’s two point conversion run to make it 8-0.  Nik Shadley then found the endzone from 3 yards out and the two point conversion failed.  Junior Tight End Cade Brighton then hauled in a 43 yard touchdown pass from Andy Fair. Breitenwischer followed that up with a 3 yard two point conversion.  Clinton 22 Onsted 0.  The Wildcats returned the kickoff for a touchdown to score their only points of the half.  Sophomore Bryce Randolph punched in a touchdown from one yard out to make it 28-6 Clinton.  Andy Fair then kept the ball for a 21 yard touchdown run, followed by a Mason Brodie two point conversion catch from Fair.  Clinton 36 Onsted 6 after the first quarter.  Jake Felts punched another one in the endzone from three yards out and Fair connected with a catch by Brodie again on the two point conversion.  Nik Shadley caught a 20 yard pass from Fair for another Clinton touchdown, this time with Jake Felts punching in the two point conversion.  Clinton 52 Onsted 6.  Finishing the score in the first half was Fair throwing a touchdown pass to Brodie and then connecting another pass to Brighton for the two point conversion.  Clinton 60 Onsted 6 at the half.  Clinton scored again in the fourth quarter with a Jaren Settles pass to Brandon Johnson for a 42 yard touchdown.  Offensive blockers that earned pancake blocks on the night were Mason Brodie and Nate Page with two each, Teddy Pizio, Bryce Randolph, Cade Brighton, and Wyatt Hicks each had one apiece.  Andy Fair threw for 143 yards on 9 for 10 passing, three touchdown passes and three two point conversion throws.  Jaren Settles was 1 for 1 for a 42 yard touchdown pass.  Receiving on the night was Nik Shadley 3 receptions for 55 yards and a TD, Cade Brighton was 1 catch for 43 yards and a TD, Brandon Johnson had one catch for 42 yards and a TD, Jake Felts had a catch for 24 yards, Mason Brodie had 3 catches for 13 yards and a TD, Cole Breitenwischer had a catch for 8 yards.  Rushing leaders were Nik Shadley with 159 yards on 10 attempts and a TD, Jake Felts had 74 yards on 6 attempts and two TD’s.  Cole Breitenwischer had 42 yards on 4 attempts.   Andy Fair had 29 yards on 2 attempts and a TD.  Bryce Randolph had 15 yards on four attempts and a TD.  Brenden Benschoter had 14 yards on two attempts.  Clifford Jones had 13 yards on 3 attempts.  Joey Preston had 10 yards on 5 attempts.  Tanner Bolton and Macray Connors both ran the ball as well.  

Defensively Bryce Randolph led the defense with 10 tackles, and interception,and 5 tackles for a loss.  Wyatt Hicks had two tackles and two tackles for a loss.  Brenden Benschoter had 7 tackles, a pass break up, and one tackle for a loss.  Others with tackles for losses were: Teddy Pizio,Jake Felts, Landon Lakatos, and John Keibler with one each.  Cole Breitenwischer had a pass break up and two tackles.  Nik Shadley had a fumble recovery and four tackles.   Wyatt Federer had three tackles, Cade Brighton had four tackles.  

Offensive Player of the Game was Andy Fair who threw for 143 yards, 3 touchdowns, 3 two point conversions, and ran for a touchdown.  Defensive Player of the Game was Brenden Benschoter with 7 tackles, one tackle for a loss, and a pass break up.  Special Teams Players of the Game was Nik Shadley who had fumble recovery.  Red Army Player of the Week is Macray Connors for his willingness to always jump in when needed and give great effort.  Captain of the Week is Mason Brodie for his effort during the week and in the game.  This week Clinton hosts Hillsdale for another LCAA contest Friday, Oct. 13th at 7pm.  See you at Wegner Field.
