On Friday, Sept. 15th the varsity football team traveled to Adrian Madison in an LCAA contest.  The Redwolves came away with a 50-0 shutout victory over their LCAA opponent.  The Redwolves ran for 281 yards in rushing and threw for another 61 yards for 342 yards offense.  The defense was the deciding factor holding Madison to 8 yards in passing and only 98 yards in rushing with 66 of those yards coming on the last two plays of the game.  Andy Fair was 5 of 7 passing for 61 yards.  Nik Shadley had 3 receptions for 44 yards, while Brandon Johnson had a catch for 9 yards, and Jake Felts had a catch for 8 yards.  Rushing was led by Nik Shadley with 111 yards on 8 carries and a touchdown.  Cole Breitenwischer had 3 touchdowns and 85 yards on 11 carries.  Jake Felts had 3 carries and a touchdown.  Andy Fair had 6 carries and 21 yards. Bryce Randolph had 2 carries for 20 yards and a touchdown.  Joey Preston had three carries for 10 yards and a touchdown.  Tanner Bolton had 3 carries and 8 yards. Brenden Benschoter had 1 carry for 3 yards. Cliff Jones had a carry as did Macray Connors.  Wyatt Hicks was 2 for 2 on extra point kicks.  Mason Brodie had two punts that averaged around 40 yards a kick.  Leading the blocking with pancake finishes were Teddy Pizio with 3, Mason Brodie with 2, Brighton, Nate Page, Tanner Bolton, and Jake Felts with one apiece. 

Leading the defense in tackles was Bryce Randolph with10, Wyatt Hicks with 6, Joey Preston with 5 and an interception, Nik Shadley and Mason Brodie each had 5 tackles.  Brenden Benschoter Cade Brighton had 4 tackles each.  Interceptions were by Cade Brighton and Joey Preston.  Brenden Benschoter forced a fumble.  Tackles for a loss came from Wyatt Hicks with 4, Preston, Pizio, Brodie, Brighton and Federer all with one a piece.  Pass break ups came from Andy Fair, Felts, and Benschoter.  

Offensive Player of the Game was Nik Shadley for rushing for 111 yards and a touchdown.  Defensive Player of the Game was Joey Preston for his 5 tackles and interception.  Special Teams Player of the Game was Mason Brodie for his excellent coverage on kickoff and huge punts.  Red Army Player of the Week is Ian Williams for his play all week in practice and his tackle that saved the shut out.  Captain of the Week is Tyrus Hayes for his consistent play on offense and defense, as well as his leadership.  This week we play our first home game of the season against Blissfield on Friday, Sept. 22 at 7pm.  Hope to see a huge crowd supporting the team.
