Varsity Football Defeats Ida in LCAA Opener

Friday, Sept. 8th the Varsity Football traveled to Ida for their third road contest in a row.  They opened LCAA action with a 40-21 win over state ranked Ida.   The Redwolves racked up 312 yards of rushing to Ida's 132 on the ground.  Clinton put another 46 yards up in the air while Ida put up 126 yard through the air.  Clinton scored in every quarter and pulled away as the game went on.  Nik Shadley ran 9 times for 179 yards and 3 touchdowns. Cole Breitenwischer ran 10 times for 44 yards and a touchdown, Jake Felts ran 10 times for 40 yards and a touchdown, Bryce Randolph ran 7 times for 36 yards, and Andy Fair ran 4 times for 13 yards.  Andy Fair was 4 for 6 passing for 46 yards.  Jake Felts had two catches for 30 yards, Nik Shadley had one catch for 10 yards, and Mason Brodie had a catch for 6 yards.  Cole Breitenwischer returned three kicks for 28 yards, and Bryce Randolph returned a kick for 5 yards.  On offense pancake blocks were led by Mason Brodie's 5, Cade Brighton had 3, Teddy Pizio had 2, and Joey Preston, Tyrus Hayes, Nate Page, and Nik Shadley each had one a piece.  

Defensively the Redwolves were led by Bryce Randolph with 14 tackles, Cole Breitenwischer, Brenden Benschoter, and Nik Shadley with 7 each.  Tackles for losses were led by Bryce Randolph with 5, Cole Breitenwischer and Wyatt Hicks with 2 each, Jake Felts and Teddy Pizio with one each.  Teddy Pizio also had a sack.  Breitenwischer also blocked a field goal and Tyrus Hayes had a recovery.  Brenden Benschoter had a pass break up as well.  

Offensive Player of the Game was Mason Brodie for his excellent blocking on the line and a great catch after the defense tipped it.  Defensive Player of the Game was Bryce Randolph.  Special Teams Player of the Game was Wyatt Federer for his great coverage.  Captain of the Week is Andy Fair for his leadership during the week and especially during the game trying to help teammates.  This week Clinton travels to Adrian Madison on Friday, Sept. 15th for their fourth road game in a row.  Game time is at 7pm.  Thank you for the support.
