The lone Redwolf to make it to the MHSAA State Golf Finals at MSU-Forest Akers Golf Course West this past weekend was Junior Jacob Rothman. He posted a 2 day total of 174 (92-82), good for T55 out of 113 golfers. "Jacob did a great job putting behind him a very tough first round that found him struggling to find his swing which in turn left him in some really poor positions all day on the course. However, he came back Saturday to shave off 10 strokes, highlighted with Back-Back-Back birdies on holes 10-par 3, 11-par 4 and 12-par 3 to shoot an even par 36 on the back nine. Jacob climbed up 27 positions on the 2nd Day with his second round 82. Congratulations on a great season, Jacob!!" stated Coach Ramos. The Boys Varsity Golf team traveled to The Hills of Lenawee Golf Club, in Adrian, to participate in the MHSAA Regional #18 for Division III. 17 Teams came looking to capture 3 spots to make it in as a MHSAA State Qualifier or the top 3 individual golfers not on a winning team from our region. "Well, Jacob Rothman was able to Punch his ticket to next weekends MHSAA State Finals, being held at MSU-Forest Akers West. This will mark the first time the boys will be sending a representative to the Finals since we last went in 2019, as a team. Jacob didn't play that well coming home but he went out on his first nine -1, 35 to start the day. It was good enough to help propel him through to the Finals. We weren't sure how things were going to shake out, we had to wait until a few more scores were in and then there were some high fives and back slapping going on. The boys played well to start making it all the way up to second place throught 5 holes, but finished the tournament in 9th spot out of 17 teams (88 total golfers). The Redwolves shot a score of 365 on the day. Rothman led the way with an 80, followed by Ethan Younts 89; Robert McDonald 94; Nate Arntz 102 and then Connor Younts 103. Both the JV and Varsity golf teams hosted their 8th Annual Redwolves Invite on Saturday, hosting 16 teams at their HOME course of Rustic Glen. "The boys powered through some not very ideal weather in late May and were able to post a team score of 368 and the JV posted a score of 445. Leading the way on the links today was Jacob Rothman shooting a +4, 76, which was good for 3rd/84; Nate Arntz followed it up with a 95 T45; Max Hampel (shot PB 18 hole rnd) shot a 97 with his first birdie on the season too, T51; next in scoring was Robert McDonald with a 100, T59; and Ethan Younts. The JV team also competed today in their first 18 hole event of the year. Coach Hepler and I were happy with their scores, even though we know they left some shots out there. Coach Hepler noted Jacob Gilson and AJ Johnson played some solid golf today. This event will wrap up the JV season for the team.  The next event for the Varsity golf team will be the LCAA Championships at Woodlawn on Tuesday May 23rd. Good luck fellas!!" stated Coach Ramos. , The varsity Golf Team traveled to Marshall, to play the Medalist GC, hosted by Hillsdale Academy. The 13 team field was filled with quality teams. The Redwolves placed T6 out of 13. "The Redwolves were paired with the ONLY other high school team named the Red Wolves, how they spell it, from Paw Paw during the tournament. The Clinton Redwolves were victorious over the other Red Wolves team, thus making them the better HS named Redwolves! I told the boys that they are going to enjoy this course as it beautiful, yet demanding at the same time (Coach Ramos has played here multiple times, as this was one of his home courses growing up) and they did a very nice job. Leading the way and just missing out ton the top 10 awards with a +7, 79 was Jacob Rothman; Nate Arntz T21 shooting a PB with an 83; Ethan Younts coming in with a 90, T33; the other counting score was Max Hampel with a 107, T57 and Connor Younts with a 112. So, proud of these student/athletes as they continue to #GRIND out their and give it their best everytime they play. Next week, we play on Wednesday the 17th at our #4  and last LCAA jamboree, of the season and then we host our annual Redwolves Invite on Saturday May 20th."commented Coach Ramos. The Redwolves golf team traveled to Onsted to for the #3 LCAA Jamboree, held at Devil's Lake GC. "The team did alright, as they shot the teams best 9 hole round of the year with a 178 (5 shots better). However, the team said they left a couple shots that they have been working on at practice out on the course. Again, the scoring between the teams is super tight with all the teams this season, so we are looking to continue to tighten the golf games up with one more jamboree and then the LCAA Championships. Scoring for the Redwolves went like this: Jacob Rothman 41; Ethan Younts 43; Connor Younts 47; Robert McDonald 47; Nate Arntz 47 and Max Hampel 48. Good luck Friday fellas at the Medalist GC in Marshall, MI (home of the Albion and Olivet College Golf teams)."commented Coach Ramos TEAM SCORES: 170 Hillsdale 173 Blissfield 174 Dundee 176 Ida 178 Clinton 181 Onsted 182 Brooklyn 185 Hudson

The Redwolves golf team hosted the #2 LCAA Jamboree (9 hole event) at their home course, Rustic Glen GC. The golf course was looking fabulous this Friday and the we were able to finally play in some outstanding weather, too. "The boys put up some solid scores but weren't able to put it away. The jamboree was extremely close as only 2 strokes seperated the top 5 teams. There was a T3 between 3 teams first four scores that count, which means the positions would be decided by the 5th man scorecard. Whtere the Redwolves took home the 5th spot. Nate Arntz won the Jamboree with an impressive +4, 40 (PB 9 hole HS score) ; Ethan Younts came in with a 46, for 12th; Jacob Rothman shot a 47, T16; Max Hampel (shot his PB 9 hole round of his career) 50, T25 and rounding out the scoring was Connor Younts. The team was pressing a little bit, because it was our HOME tournament and knowing they can shoot well out here, led to a few errant shots and some pressure they put on themselves to perform well.. Still extremely proud of the guys, as two of our kids posted PB scores today, I mean that's awesome. We will get after it at the County Championships being held at Tecumseh CC this upcoming Monday (this event is a reshedule from May 1st weather postponment). The Redwolves were at the Lenawee County Championships (moved from Monday May 1st, due to weather) today held at the Tecumseh Golf Club. The boys played well, but the greens of the club were a little nasty today, for golfers new to the course. "The boys kept their heads down and did their best to try and #GRIND out there. The scores don't reflect how they played from tee to green. The boys came in a tie for 6th place, but this time our 5th man score was better than Hudsons. We have two meets this week: Wednesday May 10th #3 Jamboree at Onsted and then Friday May 12th the team will travel to the Hillsdale Academy Invite, being played at The Medalist (home of both the Albion and Olivet College men's and women's golf programs) in Marshall." commented Coach Ramos.  Jacob Rothman 89, Nate Arntz 91, Ehtan Younts 94, Max Hampel 100, Robert McDonald 101 TEAM SCORES: 317 Tecumseh 348 Adrian 365 Madison 370 LCS 371 Blissfield 374 Clinton 374 Hudson 398 Onsted 442 Sand Creek 473 Britton Deerfield NS Addison

The Redwolves traveled to Battle Creek to participate in the St Phil Tiger Invite today being held at Binder Park GC par 72. The team came away with a 4th place finish out of 10 schools. "Man the boys keep on impressing in different areas of the game, we just need to put it all together at one time. Robert McDonald continues to be a key contributor this season as a freshman, by shooting a new PB 18 hole round score of 92. Then Jacob Rothman just put two great rounds together back-back with anothe 78, +6. He played his final 16 holes in +3 after starting with a double bogey and then a bogey on the first 2 holes to start with a +3. Also joining the Redwolves today was Nate Arntz who shot a solid 89 and then Ethan Younts came in with a 94. Then Max Hampel made his Varsity debut in an 18 hole tournament, by shooting a 114. The boys will be hosting the next event at Rustic Glen GC on Friday May 5th At 3:30, for the #2 LCAA Jamboree of the season." commented Coach Ramos.   The Redwolves were in action today at Ella Sharp Park GC, in Jackson, participating in the East Jackson Invite. "The weather conditions were brutal today, with a steady rain, cold weather and some wind that came in towards the end of the round. However, the conditions did not deter Junior, Jacob Rothman who went out and shot his best HS 18 hole round with a +7, 78 on the day, good for a tie for 2nd place. There were four teams who took their teams home halfway through the tournament, due to the weather conditions today. Contributing to the team score today was Ethan Younts 95 T40, next Nate Arntz 97 T48 and both Connor Younts and Robert McDonald, who had his first birdie of his HS career today, shot 101 T57. This was a very strong field of teams today as we finished 13/16, as the team shot a 356 (1 stroke more than yesterday). The Redwolves were led by Jacob Rothman's 85 T32/83, followed by Nate Arntz's 86 (PB HS score) T39/83, sank 2 Birdies on the day; next was Ethan Younts and his 89 T46/83, then completing the team's scoring was Robert McDonald and his 97 (PB HS score) 68/83. The Clinton Varsity Redwolves Golf Team had a rescheduled 18 Hole stroke play made up today at Bedford Valley GC (host of the MHSAA Div IV Golf Finals this year). "I was extremely excited to see the scores the boys posted today, one because it was our first stroke play event of the year and two we played a really nice track right out of the gates. Saw some really good golf throughout the round and some things that we need to work on at our next practice. However, we had 3 Redwolves throw in a "birdie" in their round. The first one of the year belongs to Jacob Rothman who birdied #4 par 5, next up was Ethan Younts who almost "eagled" out from about 95 yds ,on #6 par 4,just off the fairway as the ball almost fell and finally Nate Arntz birdied the same hole, but he drained an 80' putt for his on the same hole #6. I gave the guys a # I thought we could score today and it was 355, well our final score was a 356. Outstanding play today, but we had way to many putts on the day and they are going to focus on that at our next practice. The boys are heading to Marshall Country Club tomorrow to participate in the Tom Reynolds Invite (Coach Ramos' mentor while he was at Marshall and student at Siena Heights, a very important figure in his career path). Best of luck fellas" stated Coach Ramos.
