The Clinton Redskins golf team was back in action today after playing Friday in the Tecumseh Invite, at the Rochester Adams Invite, held at Bedford Valley Golf Club (home of the Division II State Finals this year) and shot a team score of 343.  The Redskins were paired with Division IV  #1-Clarkston Everest Collegiate Catholic and #2 Grand Rapids Northpointe Christian schools. They finished 7 strokes behind Everest (336) and 19 strokes behind Northpointe (324). "It was a tough day, but we can't use the weather and arriated greens. We still need to hit quality shots off the tee and into greens. Obviously the windy and cold temps didn't help but there were schools who put solid rounds together. We again realized we need to work a lot harder on our short games as a whole team. But overall for us to shoot that well was a credit to the boys finding a way to GRIND out some alright scores." stated Coach Ramos. At the Invite we competed against 10 Div I schools, 10 Div II, 1 Div III and 2 Div IV schools today (14 teams are currently ranked in the state who attended).  Overall winner of the 24 team Invite shot a 310, Forest Hills Northern and 2nd place went to Cranbrook Kingswood who shot a 312. That's what we want to push ourselves to play tough courses and tough teams, as it will prepare us for tournament time. Just tell the boys to realize it's still April and we still have 10 meets left. We want to prepare against the best to get better. The Redskins travel Tuesday next week to play in the Onsted Wildcat Invite being held at the Grande Golf Course in Jackson.
