The Redwolves Golf Team played in the Division III Region 18 MHSAA Golf Regional held at Cascades GC, in Jackson, hosted by Lumen Christi High School. With 17 teams and 2 teams that did not have enough golfers for a team score participated in the Regional. Only the top three schools and the top three individuals not on a winning team advance to this years MHSAA State Final being held at Ferris State University's golf course, Katke GC. The Redwolves didn't play as well as they wanted to today and will be bowing out of this year's playoff. Shooting a 364 was not where they needed or wanted to shoot but that's Regional golfleading the way was Sr Jacob Rothman with an 86 good for 21st/ 89; Fr Brandon Ruhl had the next score for the Redwolves with a 91 which placed him 42nd; next was Sr. Nate Arntz with a 93 which put him 47th; then Soph Robert McDonald shot a 94 which put him 52nd and then Sr Connor Younts shot a 97 for 62nd. Despite finishing the season at Regionals it was a great season all around, especially winning the LCAA 18 Hole Championship (3/5 LCAA events this season). The program wants to thank Seniors Connor Younts (Wrestling at MSU while studying in the field of engineering) Nate Arntz (heading to the University of Toledo) and Jacob Rothman (who will be entering the armed forces in the Air Force). Best of luck to these three and especially Nate and Jacob who have been part of the program for all four years on Varsity. Thanks to all of our supporters throughout the season, have an amazing summer!!

The Redwolves entered the LCAA Championships with one goal on its mind and that was to win the day and hope for some help from a few other teams to help them in their quest of a league title. The Redwolves took care of their end and ended up winning the 18 hole Championship with a solid score of 351, however the team we needed to pass, due to a 5th place and 6th place showing in two of our Jamborees earlier in the year left us in 2nd place for the season behind Blissfield. We won 3/5 LCAA events but the hole we dug ourselves was just to much to get out of, however the boys did GRIND all season and we had some good things happen to our kids. In the 18 Hole Championship the Redwolves had three of the top 10 finishers on the day: T9th Nate Arntz 89, 7th Robert McDonald 87 and 1st Jacob Rothman 80, Also playing well were Brandon Ruhl 95 and Connor Younts 98. "I'm so proud of these kids, especially today, as we talked and they knew what they had to do on the day and they did it!! We know because of the earlier Jamborees the situation we were in and the boys just finished strong and kept working to try and win that Championship. If we had 1 more Jamboree, without a doubt we would have pulled out the win......but that's life and you need to continue to push forward to reach goals that you have out there. I am so glad I got to coach this bunch of guys!! We play in the MHSAA Regionals next Tuesday and as of right now we are going to be fighting for a spot in the State Finals. We need to just take 1 shot at a time and see where it puts us at the end of the day. Excited for the upcoming opportunity" commented Coach Ramos.

The Redwolves hosted 14 teams at today's Redwolves Invite at Rustic Glen GC on a beautiful Saturday day. The Team was able to shoot a PB for the season with a 331 to come in second place behind Saline's 221 score. "Man, I hate to not be excited about a score like that but the guys were like Coach I could've been 2-3 shots better today. Wow, they played solid golf and it showed in our team and individual scores. But I like where we are at and how the guys are playing. It's where we need to be heading into playoff season. However, we have one last 18 hole event at the Tecumseh Golf Club on Monday where we will try and earn that LCAA Championship" stated Coach Ramos. The Redwolves golf program all players were able to participate in our Invite at our home course and JV finished their season today. I want to congratulate them on a nice season and look forward to some big things from them in the following years. Leading the JV squad was Max Hampel with his PB in his last HS round of his career with a 90, Mattis Riddle also shot well with a 95, followed closely by Chase Gillman with a nice 97; then Mason Diaz came in with a 104; Chase Boike and Brian Ferree both shot a 111; then AJ Johnson came in with a 114; then Elijah Jones had a 124 and Conner Henry-Wegner shot a 128. For the Varsity team, we had some solid scores leading off with Jacob Rothman who shot a solid +4, 76, good for T3/67 golfers;Robert McDonald earned his first Top Ten Golfing Medal of his short 2 year career with a nice 83, T10th; next was Nate Arntz with a solid 85 good for T14th; Connor Younts shoots his PB 18 hole round for HS competition with a nice 87, good for T18th and finally Brandon Ruhl came in with a 90, for T28th on the day. That's some shooting and they still left one to two shots out there apiece. They are definitely rounding into form. We have two more 18 hole events before MHSAA Regionals at Cascades on Tuesday May 28th. We are going to have to play well if we want to head to the MHSAA State Finals at Katke GC, on the campus of Ferris State University" commented Coach Ramos. We had some unfortunate breaks, but that's golf and you get ready for the next shot. All in all it was a great day supporting a great cause. Plus we were able to beat 3 LCAA teams that also participated in the event after they beat us earlier in the week in our #3 Jamboree at Hudson, so that was nice." stated Coach Ramos. The Clinton Redwolves Varsity Golf Team opened their season at Washtenaw Country Club, Ypsilanti, in the AA Greenhills Invite. The team shot a 386, as the golf course was in amazing shape after all the rain we have gotten the last two days. The greens really gave the team some fits all day long, as they were extremely firm and fast, which gave the team a lot of trouble reading and gauging those putts all day long. We know that there are things we need to tighten up but glad they kept their heads down and tried to grind out some good scores. Sr, Jacob Rothman led the Redwolves with an 83 (possibly in the top 10 waiting on scores to get put into the system) both Soph Robert McDonald and Frosh Brandon Ruhl had matching rounds of 98, then Sr, Nate Arntz finished the scoring with a 107, the other varsity golfer participating in the tournament was Connor Younts. The Redwolves are off until next Friday April 20th, when they travel to the Tom Reynolds Invite, hosted by Marshall High School at Marshall Country Club.
