Clinton Varsity Softball went 3-0 at Milan today.  They now are 8-0 on the season.

Game 1 vs Bedford final score 7-2

Renee Hoffman was the winning pitcher, coming in relief in the 5th inning striking out 6 of 9 batters faced, allowing no hits and no walks.  Payton Hernandez started the game, then Libbi Fair came in allowing 2 hits, 2 strikeouts, and 1 walk in 3 innings.

Clinton trailed Bedford by 2 until the bats came alive in the 5th inning.  Hoffman was 2-4 with 2 doubles, Sam Renaldi was 2-4 with a double.  Kristie Wenk was 2-3 with 2 doubles, and Taylor Rothman was 2-2 with an RBI single in the 3rd inning.  Rilee Szczesniak, Payton Hernandez, and Sydney Amsdill each added an RBI single.

Game 2 vs Garden City (6-2)

Renee Hoffman went 7 innings, allowing 4 hits, 2 walks, with 9 strikeouts.  Rilee Szczesniak had a 2 RBI triple to pull Clinton ahead.  Libbi Fair sealed the deal with a 2 RBI homerun (her first of the season).  Hoffman, Renaldi, and Sydney Amsdill each added 2 hits.

Game 3 vs New Boston Huron (3-2)

Clinton faced Division 1 ranked Huron in their final game of the day, scoring 1 in the first, and 2 in the second before the defense held them off the rest of the game.  Renee Hoffman finished her day on the mound, allowing 4 hits, 3 walks, with 7 strikeouts.

Libbi Fair had an RBI double in the first, Rothman had an RBI double in the second, Szczesniak had an RBI single in the second.  Amsdill and Renaldi each added a hit.

Clinton improves their record to 8-0 and will continue play at Sand Creek Monday for a TCC league double header.
