Clinton split in a non-league double header against Hanover Horton. In game 1, Kendall Phillip started on the mound for the Redwolves. She struggled a bit in the circle, allowing 7 hits, 4 walks, 3 earned runs, with 6 strikeouts in 6 innings. Taryn Hernandez came in, in the 7th, unable to shut them down. Going into the bottom of the 7th, the Redwolves were behind 6-2. Clinton managed to score 3 before getting the 3rd out losing 5-6. The offense was led by Phillip, going 3-3 with a double and a 2-run homer in the third (her third on the season) to go up 2-1. Raven Aldridge was 2-4 with an RBI. Kyleigh Ramos added a 2-RBI triple in the run in the 7th. The only other Redwolves%u2019 hit came from Annabell Preston. Brenna Broman started game 2, allowing 2 hits and 1 run, with 1 strikeout in 2 innings. Taryn Hernandez came in and controlled the rest of the game, finishing the 5 inning stretch with 2 strikeouts, 0 earned runs, and allowing just 4 hits. The offense was a bit more of a team effort. Phillip was 2-3 with a triple and a stolen base. Hernandez was 2-4 with a double, Lola Szczesniak was 2-3 with a RBI SAC bunt. Aldridge was 2-2 with 2 walks, and Broman finished 2-3 with a solo homerun (her first of the season) to tie up the game in the 3rd inning. Ashlynn Benschoter came in as the DH adding a 2-RBI single. Ramos had the other 2 RBI. Clinton will continue league play Tuesday HOME against Blissfield.
