Wrestling to Host Red and Black Scrimmage Wednesday, Nov. 20th
CoEd Varsity WrestlingThe wrestling teams will host their annual home dual scrimmage on Wednesday, Nov. 20th starting at 6pm in the high school gym. The roster has around 50 total wrestlers. We split the group up into two teams, a red team and a black team. We wrestle a dual match as a part of our wrestle offs for starting weight classes. In wrestling there are 14 starting weight classes. Weight classes will be listed below. This a an event that is free to spectators and will be an opportunity to see our wrestlers at home. The team is currently ranked 5th in the state in the preseason rankings and has several wrestlers ranked individually as well. It is early and rankings do not really matter other than people across the state take notice of the potential of a our team. Boys Middle School BasketballThe Clinton 8th grade basketball team traveled to Madison Wednesday looking to improve their record to 3-0. As usual Clinton’s defense was strong throughout the entire game and held Madison to 19 while the offense put up 24 leading them to another victory. With 4minutes left in the game Clinton was up by 8 but a quick couple of buckets put Madison within 3. From there on it was a battle to the end with the score going back and forth. A couple forced turnovers and buckets by Clinton in the last minute allowed them to pull away and get the victory. Clinton faces Blissfield Monday looking to stay undefeated.

Boys Middle School BasketballThe 1-0 Clinton 8th grade basketball team hosted Ida on Monday in a packed gym. Clinton went 1-1 the previous season against Ida and were hungry for a win. Clinton’s strong defense led the way again holding Ida to only 7 points while the well rounded offense put up 19 for the win. Clinton looks to improve their record to 2-0 Wednesday as they travel to face the Madison Trojans.

Boys Middle School BasketballClinton 8th basketball team started their season with a win again the Dundee Vikings.It was well rounded effort from Clinton with 10 of the 18 players scoring and the other 8 playing excellent defense. The game was tied with 3 minutes left but a few quickly forced turnovers by Clinton’s strong defense resulted in 6 points and the lead. A great start to a promising season. Clinton faces Ida at home on Monday who they split with last season 1-1.

Boys Varsity FootballThe 2024 football season came to an end on Friday, Nov. 8th in the District Championship at Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central. The Redwolves finished the season 7-4 overall and qualified for the playoffs for the 13th consecutive year. Offensively Clinton rushed for 156 yards and passed for 158 yards totaling 314 yards. SMCC proved to be too much as they scored early and often to go up 14-0 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter opened up scoring for both teams and at the half Clinton was down 14-44. SMCC scored again after halftime and Clinton put two more touchdowns on the board to finish the scoring at SMCC 51 Clinton 30. Bryce Randolph finished the game with 98 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Jake Felts had 38 yards rushing and two 2-point conversions. Boys Varsity FootballOn Friday, Nov 1st the varsity football team hosted the first round of the playoffs against last years state runner up the Whiteford Bobcats. In a back and forth game Clinton came out on top 38-30. The opening kickoff was returned by Bryce Randolph who gave the Redwolves great field position to start their first offensive series. On the first play of the game Randolph broke free behind some great blocking and took the ball down to the 3 yard line. Two plays later Bryce punched it in from 2 yards out, but the two point conversion failed. Clinton was up 6-0 early in the first quarter. Whiteford came right back and put together a drive of their own and scored from 10 yards out, their two point conversion failed to tie the score at 6-6. CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe Redwolves traveled to MIS on Saturday represented by the Boys team and Ella Claus in the Michigan cross country championships. The boys' team has gone to the state finals in five of the last six years, an ongoing tradition for this team.Gabe Manchester ran the fastest time for a male Clinton runner since Dominic Muessig in 2012 with a time of 16:37.6 finishing 51st overall. Austin Strand and Zach Taylor each broke 18 minutes for the first time running 17:52.0 and 17:56.6 respectively. Eric Ramsey ran a time of 18:09.7 while dealing with a minor injury. Ronan Stelzer had a season best time of 19:17.7 and Jacob Pizio a personal best time of 19:18.1. Peter Baker rounded out the boys' squad also with a personal best of 20:11.5. Boys Junior Varsity FootballOn Saturday, October 26th, the Clinton JV football finished their season with a victory at Ida. It was a hard fought game between the Redwolves and the Bluestreaks with Clinton earning the win, 28 to 14. Clinton was able to strike first with a touchdown run by Gradyn Whelan and a two point conversion run by Isaac Keibler. The Bluestreaks put together a long drive of their own, but eventually the Redwolves defense would get a stop and force Ida to turn it over on downs. Clinton would take advantage of this and march down the field again scoring off of a touchdown run by Braxton Randolph. On the first play of their following drive, Ida would rip off a long touchdown run and pull within a score. This would not deter the Redwolves, as Whelan would complete a long touchdown pass to Daejaun Garrison, and they would convert the 2 point conversion on a run by Randolph. Boys Varsity FootballOn Friday, Oct. 25th the varsity football team hosted the Bluestreaks of Ida. Clinton lost 14-22 to Ida and finishes the regular season at 6-3 and Ida moves to 8-1 on the year. Offensively Andy Fair was 1 for 3 for 10 yards and Gradyn Whelan was 1 for 3 for 21 yards. Jake Felts was the leading rusher with 64 yards on 16 carries. Bryce Randolph added 35 yards, Gradyn Whelan added 28 yards on the ground as well. Cliff Jones had 11 yards on his first carry, but was unable to continue due to injury. Dacari Garrison had a reception for 21 yards and Devon Trent had a reception for 10 yards. The offensive line was led by Cade Brighton and Hamza Rafferty with 3 pancake blocks each. Jake Felts and Joe Webb each had pancake blocks as well. The offensive player of the game was offensive tackle Joe Webb as he had his best performance of the year on the line. On the defensive side of the ball Tanner Bolton had a fumble recovery and three tackles.

CoEd Varsity Cross CountryWith a strong effort at Willow Metropark, the Boys Cross Country team finished 3rd to upset Blissfield in MHSAA LP Finals qualifying at the Region 27-3 meet today. Predicted 6th, each runner had either a season best or a personal best time to finish with 96 points to Blissfield's 108. Flat Rock won the meet with 43 points and Erie Mason was second with 89 points.Gabe Manchester led the team, finishing 6th with a new PR of 16:56.30 giving him a spot on the record board as the 5th fastest senior in Clinton history. Eric Ramsey also medaled while finishing 12th with a time of 17:47.8. Austin Strand and Zach Taylor each had PR's and finished well above expectations finishing 17th (18:10.90) and 19th (18:13.00). Ronan Stelzer finished out the scoring in 43rd while also running a season best of 19:24.20. Girls Junior Varsity VolleyballOn Thursday, 10/24, the Redwolves JV volleyball team traveled to LCS to take on the Cougars and the Grass Lake Warriors. During the first match, Clinton went three sets with Grass Lake, eventually defeating them 25-16, 23-25, 15-9. Against LCS, it was an easy two set sweep 25-9, 25-14. Lila Kennedy caused havoc for the other teams with her challenging serves, scoring 25 points on the night, with 8 aces. Emily Farmer also found success serving, adding 14 pts., followed by Rylee Pepper with 12. The Redwolves were tough defensively, led by Sophomore Ashlynn Benschoter with 13 digs and Freshman Mya Popkey with 11. Lexi Tzortzinis, Leah Brown, and Lila Kennedy also added digs on the evening. At the net, Rylee Pepper and Bella Bannon took control, delivering 14 and 13 kills respectively to their opponents. Abby Sheneman added 9 kills and 6 blocks. The two wins were a team effort and increase their record to 35-4.

Girls Junior Varsity VolleyballThe Redwolves faced, and defeated a tough Ida team on 10/22 for their last home game of the season. In set 1, the Bluestreaks came out on top, winning 25-20. Set two was a battle, with the Redwolves winning 29-27, forcing a third set. With strong serving and offense, Clinton was able to take the set 15-7. Joslyn Kranz led the team at the net with 7 kills and 4 blocks. Zoey Utz had a great night as well, securing 5 more kills for the team. Abby Sheneman added 13 service points and Lila Kennedy contributed defensively with 8 digs. It was another great LCAA win for the Redwolves!

They played 3 matches, Hillsdale, Hudson and then Dundee. They took the first match against Hillsdale in 3 sets. The scores were 18-25, 25-23, and 15-12. They lost their second match against Hudson. They put up a solid fight and came to the courts with revenge on their brain. The won the first set 25-17, lost the second 24-25 and lost the third 15-11. They made it down to the last match against Dundee to see who went home with third and fourth. They lost to Dundee earlier in the week and came out victorious in the end!
