8th Grade Beats Hudson

Updated on 09/26/2024

The 8th grade football team marched into Thompson Field and came out with a huge win in a thrilling showdown. The first half was a gritty battle, with neither team able to reach the end zone. However, after halftime, we made crucial adjustments that shifted the momentum both offensively and defensively.

Our defense set the tone right from the start, with a strong push from our D-line, featuring Karter Quinton, Seth Bird, Cayden Cook, Landon Lidster, and Jack Frederick, alongside linebackers Bronson Whelan and Noah Jenkins. With defensive backs Matt Coughlin, Joe Della-Badia, and Aidan Hall having great pass coverage and making some great tackles. Following a key turnover, Noah Jenkins delivered a great pass to Wyatt Dehring, resulting in a HUGE gain. Throughout the first half, Joe Della-Badia showcased his toughness with some nice runs, while Aidan Hall provided excellent blocking.

As the second half kicked off, we regained possession and had a great drive, effectively managing the clock. After several strong runs from Bronson Whelan and Aidan Hall, we found ourselves inside the 30. Bronson then had a hard nosed run for a touchdown, followed by an impressive onside kick from Aidan Hall that was recovered by Noah Reid and completely kept our momentum going.

Bronson Whelan crossed the goal line once more after a great run breaking many tackles, and Noah Jenkins connected with Noah Reid for a successful two-point conversion.

Up front, our offensive line, led by Landon Lidster, Seth Bird, Jack Frederick, Cayden Cook, Chase Lewis, Noah Reid, and CJ Mitchell, was huge in our success. This was truly a total team effort, and we couldn’t be more excited for what lies ahead. The Redwolves celebrated a hard-fought 14-6 victory!
