2019 Clinton MSXC Continues Growth

 

The 2019 Clinton Middle School Cross Country program will field its largest team in school history with 34 runners.  The program has more than doubled in size since 2016. The 2018 campaign was successful in which the program captured 11 trophies/plaques and 116 medals. The Redskins will open their season at Hayden Park in Hillsdale on September 6, 2019 at the Hillsdale Academy Invite.  The Redskins will also make a return trip to the Spartan Invite in East Lansing this year. “The kids have been working hard to get ready for their opener. This group has logged many miles this summer and looking forward to the start of the 2019 campaign.”

The girls team brings back a wealth of talent from last season which includes finishing top 2 in 7 of the 10 meets and earning 6 trophies/plaques.  The team will return the following runners: Samantha Coots, Allison Bowles, Paige Shankland, Emma Shankland, Faith Blackburn, Jana Hillegonds, Maliah Piatt, Maya Freeman, Sarah King, Mieah Rodriguez, and Ava Roesler. Newcomers to the girls team include Summer Chandler, Emerald Sierer, Zoey Sierer, Aubrey Jones, Dalia Albashir, and Kira Wilson.

The boys team will look to build on the success from 2018 which includes finishing in the top 2 in 5 of the 10 meets and earning 5 trophies/plaques.  The team will return the following runners: Justin Celmer, Lucas Goodman, Travis Faust, Max Hampel, Nickolas DeVitto, Drew McNatt, Michael Ruhl, Brodie Stipe, and David Wegner.  Newcomers to the boys team include Nathan Arntz, Reed Patrick, Jalen Stelzer, Shane Cook, Elijah Turner, Jack Morgan, Pavel Gergely, and Jacob McCallister.
