CMS wins Sand Creek Tournament

Sand Creek Duals February 1, 2019 The Clinton Middle School Wrestling Team continued its winning ways in dominating fashion at the Sand Creek Duals on Saturday improving their record to (11-0) in duals so far this season. The opening dual of the day was versus the Perennial State Power Manchester and the Upstart Redskins were up to the task taking out the Dutchmen 93-16 and winning 17 of the 19 matches in the dual. In the second Dual of the Day the Redskins took on the Reading Rangers and tallied up a score of 102-12, they boys and girls again went (17-2) head to head in the dual. Next on the docket was the Adrian Maples where the Redskins continued their winning ways beating the Maples 88-18 going (16-3). In the 4th Dual of the Tournament the Redskins took on our neighbor to the South the Tecumseh Indians and racked up a score of 86-24 going (15-4) in the dual. In the final bout of the day the Team took on the Hudson Tigers in a hotly contested dual the Redskins finished off the Tournament in dominating fashion beating the Tigers 64-37. They were (11-7) head to head in the dual. The Redskins getting (5) wins on the day were: Brenden Benschoter (5-0), Colt Perry (5-0), Braden Broderick, Connor Younts (5-0), Clifford Jones (5-0), Braylon Long (5-0), Nik Shadley (5-0), Joey Preston (5-0) and Xavier Gibbs (5-0). Earning (4) wins for the Redskins were: Coy Perry (4-0), Blake Sloan (4-1), Maurice Ames (4-1), Wyatt Hicks (4-1) and Hamza Rafferty (4-1). Earning (3) wins was Bryce Randolph (3-0). The Redskins who won (2) matches were Raven Aldridge (2-2) and Faith Blackburn (2-0). Also receiving wins for the Redskins were Aiden Weaver (1-1), Wyatt Federer (1-0) and Gage Blackburn(1-0), Austin Putnam (1-0) and Devin Trent(1-0) earning a fall in in his first career match. Overall on the day the Redskins were 77-15 winning at an (.836) clip. This week the Team will travel to Blissfield on Thursday February 6th in a TCC/LCAA Jamboree.
