The team at the MHSAA State Finals at GVSU, the Meadows
The lady Redwolves had an amazing time at the Golf Finals, being held at the Meadows, on the campus of GVSU. The team didn't shoot what they were hoping to, but they all had some solid scores. The league we play in was well represented this weekend. LCS, took home the 2nd place trophy, by a mere 4 strokes. The individual leaderboard was full of IGL players, in the top 25, the #2 golfer in the state from Brooklyn, #8 LCS, #9 LCS, #23 Kyleigh Ramos, #24 LCS. What an oppportunity for our 2nd year program. The members of the Varsity team have definitely set the standard this year of what and how we want to do things in our golf program, THANK YOU to Seniors Emma Fair, Ella Graves, Breanna Ramos, Brynn Frederick; Junior Kyleigh Ramos and Sophomore Kaylie Livingston. These young women have definitely made their coach so "proud". "The team shot a two day total of 454-451, with some solid scores. The chance to be there as a team was just an amazing accomplishment. The team was led by Kyleigh Ramos' two day total 185 (91-94) and finishing 23/107; followed by Breanna Ramos's 237 89/107; Brynn Frederick 247 94/107; Ella Graves 242 96/107 and lastly Emma Fair (Friday) 113, Kaylie Livingston (Saturday) 126. The team will be looking forward to the opportunity of reaching the State Finals again. The Redwolves will be welcoming back Kyleigh Ramos, Kaylie Livingston and Kierra Fivenson. The team wants to again THANK all of the supporters of the girls program. See everyone next year!!" commented Coach Ramos

The Lady Redwolves earned a spot in the MHSAA State Finals being held at GVSU
The Clinton girls golf team (only the 2nd year of existence) was able to punch their ticket to the MHSAA State Finals being held at GVSU, at the Meadows Golf Course, on the weekend of the 14th & 15th. "Wow, I'm so excited and proud of these girls: Kyleigh Ramos, Breanna Ramos, Emma Fair, Ella Graves (original Fab Four), Brynn Frederick and Kaylie Livingston (1st year players). All three teams qualifying for the state finals are from our own conference, the IGL (that's pretty impressive). I thought we had a legitimate shot at making the top three at Regionals after last years regionals. The addition of those two new players really gave us a great chance of accomplishing that goal and it came to fruition. The team really started coming along nicely by being a lot more consistent with their scores late in the season. Leading the way for the Redwolves today were the following: finishing 3rd overall with a solid 90 was Kyleigh Ramos; followed by Breanna Ramos with a 114, 21/43; Brynn Frederick shot a 122 good for 23/43; then Emma Fair pitched in with a solid 123 T24/43; rounding out the team, but not scoring was Ella Graves with a 129, 30/43. We will start preparing for the Finals later this week. None of the girls have played this course so going up early, playing and seeing the setup will be important. I have been here as a Coach when the boys played their in 2019, there is a lot of "heather" out there, so we'll need to work on keeping it in front of us. I also want to take a few minutes to thank some very important people. I first want to thank Rustic Glen GC (Greg Hodges and Hamilton Hodges) as they do a wonderful job in supporting our team; Jeff Waltz, our AD who has supported the idea of forming a girls golf program here at Clinton;Kimmie (Clinton Coney Island waitress) who has held scrambles the past two summers and made significant monetary donations to the program to allow us to do what we do, Tyler Hoelzer and Hometown Pizza for supporting the team with a dine and donate night; Signature Sewing, last year she embroidered our golf bags for the team and finally all the patrons that came out to support the golf scrambles Kimmie put on, because without their generosity in supporting this team, it really would have been hard to accomplish what we have. THANK YOU all for the support you have shown these young women!!!" stated Coach Ramos. MHSAA State Finals the Redwolves are coming!!!

The TEAM posing with their 2nd Place Trophy from the 2022 County Championships
The Lady Redwolves golf team traveled to Devil's Lake GC ( par 70 5,200 yds), home of the Onsted Wildcats. As they hosted all county schools with girls golf. while two schools opted out of playing (LCS and Hudson). There were four teams that were able to field full teams , while Addison, Madison, and Sand Creek schools were represented with individual golfers. The Adrian Maples came away with the top spot by shooting a team score of 396 and Clinton followed that with a NEW team PB 18 hole record on the year with a 413. "I'm again so excited for the team as they continue to make improvements during the season and it is coming at the right time as we head into Regionals this upcoming Monday. We had three girls place in the top 10 at this event: Emma Fair finished in 10th, w/a 108, Breanna Ramos in 8th, w/a 102 and the 2022 County Golf Champion in 1st place Kyleigh Ramos with a solid 83. These girls continue ot impress even though this is only our 2nd year of existence and how well they represent our school and community while doing something they enjoy is fun to watch as a coach. The other Redwolf to score for the team in the tournament was Ella Graves, and she shot her PB for 18 holes on the season with a 120, good for 13/29. The other two golfers were Brynn Frederick and Kaylie Livingston who both came in with a 127 T17th. Congratulations to the team on a great season. However, the team has one last even (hopefully, 1 more after this) with the MHSAA Regionals at the Hills of Lenawee, in Adrian, this upcoming Monday and will be fighting for one of the three automatic qualifying spots to make a trip to the MHSAA Girls Golf State Finals being held at the Meadows Golf Course on the campus of GVSU, the weekend of the 14th and 15th. Good luck ladies in your tournament." stated Coach Ramos.

Well, it was a pretty whirlwind weekend for the Lady Redwolves. Starting with a 9 hole Jamboree held at Wolf Creek GC, hosted by Madison. The Redwolves were able to shoot another RECORD for an 18 hole tournament this season with a 439 (441 was record at Calderone GC). with Kyleigh Ramos shooting a PB score of 84 in the tournament, to finish T19 out of 89 golfers. "I like these back to back day tournaments, because when/if we make it to the State Finals, the team is going to have to be ready to do this again. I'm proud of them and their effort. We played a really nice course today. Again, the team was able to see what they want/need to work on at our upcoming practices. Because as most of you know, once you figure something out a new issue will surely arise that you will need to work on, that's just how it goes. We have 2 IGL events next week at Hudson on Wednesday and then we host the final ItGL meet on Friday the 16th at Rustic Glen (our home course)." stated Coach Ramos.

Newcomer, Brynn Frederick at E Jackson Scramble
The Girls Golf Team, 4 of the 6 team members, traveled to Ella Sharp Park GC, in Jackson today to open their campaign this year. There were 17 teams making a total of 37 two man teams competing in this first event of the season. Our girls; Brynn Frederick played with Breanna Ramos, finished 14th with an 86 (par 71, for a +15) and Kaylie Livingston played with Kyleigh Ramos and these two finished 10th, with a score of 80 (+9). "Wow, what a great first day of the season. We had two "brand" new girls come out to join the program and were able to come away with some very valuable experience, as they will be playing all by themselves the rest of the season. I appreciated Breanna and Kyleigh kind of being the teachers out there, when I couldn't be there with them. Saw some really good shots and plenty of fist bumps, during their rounds. We were missing Ella Graves and Emma Fair today, but look forward to having them back for the start of league play." commented Coach Ramos. The Redwolves will be heading to Baws Bee CC, on Friday to play in the first IGL of the season hosted by Hillsdale.
