The 8th grade Redwolves dominated the Dundee Vikings by a score of 34-0 to earn their third straight victory.  The Redwolves trio of backs, Jake Halchishak, Dacari Garrison, and Jonah Hahn each found the endzone in the victory, with Garrison leading the way by tallying two touchdowns on the day.  Defensively, the 8th grade Redwolves were stingy in the shutout.  The Vikings struggled to get anything going on the ground against the Redwolves strong defensive line with Will Hawkins, Owen Wright, Gabe Cabellero, Chance Maddox, David Johnson, Brody Wenn, and Lucas Coughlin.  The defensive backs Keegan Keith, Jake Jeffery, Ashton Wiedenbeck, Hudson Miller and Louie Della-Badia were equal in their efforts to shut down the Vikings passing attack.  Della-Badia came up with an interception in the first half in Redwolves territory on the Vikings only threatening scoring drive of the game and the Vikings would not recover from there.   CMS football is back to Wegner Field vs. the Onsted Wildcats for the final middle school home games of the season starting at 5 PM with the undefeated 7th grade Redwolves (4-0) followed by the 8th grade Redwolves (3-1) with their three game winning streak on the line.

The 8th Grade Redwolves picked up their 2nd victory of the season avenging last season’s loss to the Blissfield squad. Opening up on offense, the Redwolves would find some success on the ground with running backs Jake Halchishak, Jonah Hahn, and Dacari Garrison, but the drive would stall out inside the Royals 10 yard line with a turnover on downs.  The quarter would end with a long Royal run just into Redwolf territory. A big tackle for loss by Outside Linebacker Will Hawkins and a penalty on the Royals would put them behind the chains and enable the Redwolves to force a Turnover on Downs on the Royals 45 yard line. Offensive lineman Gabe Cabellero, Chance Maddox, David Johnson, Will Hawkins, Owen Wright, Keegan Keith, Lucas Coughlin, Ashton Wiedenbeck, Jake Jeffrey, and Brody Wenn would get the push the Redwolves needed on the following drive allowing Jake Halchishak to score a rushing touchdown from 7 yards out (6-0).  The 2-point conversion attempt to follow would be unsuccessful.  The Royals would answer with a touchdown of their own to cap the first half scoring, but would also be shut out of the end zone on their 2-point conversion attempt (6-6).  The Royals started the 2nd half with the ball, but couldn’t protect it as Safety Dacari Garrison forced a fumble that was recovered by Cornerback Jake Jeffrey on the Redwolves 46 yard line.  The Redwolves would not be able to capitalize on the turnover with the drive resulting in a Turnover on Downs just inside Royal territory.  The Redwolves defense would bend but not break on the ensuing drive, eventually halting the Royals with a Turnover on Downs on the Redwolves 25 yard line.  Garrison would pick up big chunks of yardage on successive run plays, totaling over 50 yards on the drive, to get the Redwolves into the Royal Red Zone which enabled Jake Halchishak to counter the blitzing Royals defense and scamper 10 yards untouched into the endzone.  The Redwolves would counter back again with Halchishak for a successful 2-point conversion (14-6).  The potential game tying drive by the Royals would result in a quick turnover on downs due to the swarming Redwolves defense, and the offense would seal the victory with the first down to wind down the clock for the 14-6 victory.   Also contributing greatly to the team victory was Quarterback/Safety Louie Della-Badia The 8th Grade Redwolves are now 2-1 on the season and look for their 3rd straight victory at the Dundee Vikings on Oct. 05.  Thanks to the parents, cheer team, and fans for your support!

8th The Clinton Middle School 8th Grade Redwolves (1-1) picked up their first win of the season on the road vs the Hudson Tigers on September 21.  The Redwolves would open up the game with a successful scoring drive, aided by a 45 yard run up the middle down to the Tiger 3 yard line by Dacari Garrison.  The drive would be capped off by a Jake Halchishak Touchdown, but unsuccessful 2-pt conversion play (6-0). Louis Della-Badia would make a fumble recovery on the Tigers first offensive play to give the Redwolves the ball back.  The ensuing drive would stall and result in a Garrison punt. The Hudson Tigers would then drive deep into Redwolves territory before Will Hawkins forced a sack fumble on the Tiger QB that resulted in an Owen Wright fumble recovery.  The Redwolves would follow their 2nd forced turnover with a traditional Clinton football drive.  Eating up the clock with repeated positive gains behind the blocking up front from offensive lineman Gabe Cabellero, Chance Maddox, David Johnson, Will Hawkins, Owen Wright, Keegan Keith, Joe Coughlin, Ashton Wiedenbeck, and Jake Jeffrey, running backs Jonah Hahn, Garrison, and Halchishak were able to chip away at the Tiger defense.  Halchishak would add to his touchdown total for his 2nd of the night along with a successful 2-Pt conversion run to tally a 14-0 lead into the half.   The Redwolves did not find the endzone again, and failed offensive drives put a lot of strain on the defensive side of the ball.  The 8th grade would hang tough defensively keeping Hudson out of the endzone until the final minute of the game (14-6).  Hudson would fail to recover the onside attempt on the following kickoff, and the Redwolves would seal the victory.  CMS Redwolves football is on the road again on September 28 against the Blissfield Royals with 7th Grade game beginning at 5 PM followed by the 8th Grade Redwolves.

7th Grade The 7th Grade Clinton football team had a near perfect opening game against a talented Ida team. The Redwolves started with the ball to begin the 2022 season and marched right down the field, Isaac Keibler was the first of 6 Redwolves to find the endzone as he took the ball down the right sideline for a touchdown. The Redwolves defense was stout all evening as they only allowed one first down throughout the contest. The Redwolves second offensive drive ended the same way as the first, but this time it was Daejaun Garrison ripping off a 27 yard touchdown run down the right sideline giving the Redwolves a two score lead (16-0) after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Redwolves defense continued to get into the backfield and cause issues for Ida’s offense as Gradyn Whelan and Braxton Randolph both had multiple tackles for loss throughout the game. The scoring continued for the Redwolves as Gradyn Whelan and Braxton Randolph both rushed for a touchdown to give the Redwolves a commanding lead (32-0) at halftime. Due to the LCAA middle school football scoring rules the Redwolves had a 6-0 lead to start the 3rd quarter as they won both quarters in the first half and received 3 points for those two quarters. The Clinton defense came out on a mission from halftime and forced another 3 and out with tackles for loss from David Johnson, Drew Erickson, and Gradyn Whelan. The offense continued to build off their success in the first half as Gradyn Whelan found his tight-end Paul Blanchard lurking behind the defense and took the pass 47 yards for another Redwolves touchdown. Whelan then recovered a muffed kick from the Ida return team, Jaxon Phillip then had a sensational touchdown by breaking tackles and weaving his way around the Ida defense.Clinton would get on the board one last time, due to Braxton Randolph finding the Ida running back in their own endzone for a safety. The 7th grade Redwolves played a complete team game to move to 1-0 on the year. They will look to continue their success on Wednesday, September 21 as they travel to Hudson. Kickoff is at 5pm. 8th Grade The 8th Grade Clinton Redwolves football team opened their season at home vs. a tough Ida opponent on Wednesday, September 14. The Redwolves started with the ball to open the season, but their first drive would result in punt.  Ida would grind down the field and eat up the clock on the following drive, possessing the ball into the 2nd quarter and adding a touchdown and 2 point conversion (0-8).  Jake Halchishak found some footing on the Redwolves second drive ripping off a 45 yard run that moved the ball into the red zone, but the Redwolves could not cap off the driving.  Ultimately, turning the ball over on downs inside the 5 yard line.  The defense answered by forcing Ida to punt on the following possession, and the Redwolves once again found themselves in the Ida red zone with a big punt return from Dacari Garrison. They would fail to produce any points as the Ida defense held strong inside the 5 and forced a second turnover on downs.  Time in the 2nd quarter would expire on the following Ida drive.   LCAA middle school football scoring rewards 3 points for each quarter won in the first half resulting in a 0-3 score at the start of the 2nd half.  Ida opened with the ball, and similar to their first half scoring drive the Blue Streaks slowly drove the field while the Redwolves had opportunities to get the defense off the field, but could not capitalize.  Ida would possess the 2nd half kickoff for the duration of the 3rd quarter and eventually score a touchdown and 2 pt. conversion to bring the score to 0-11.  The Ida scoring drive would be the final score of the game as the Redwolves could not respond with a touchdown of their own.  The 8th grade Redwolves are back in action at Hudson on Wednesday, September 21 following the 7th grade Redwolves.
