The 8th Grade boys basketball team suited up for their last game of the season last night with a home game tilt between the Wildcats of Onsted. "The Redwolves jumped on them early and came away with the the LCAA maximum "3 points" and the win 31-24, while out scoring Onsted in those three 5 minute quarters by the score of 25-10. And then they just continued to play some outstanding basketball in the second half, outscoring them 28-24, plus the LCAA +3 point which made the final score 31-24. This by far was our BEST all around game of the season. We put it all together and did some really good things on both ends of the floor. So, proud of these student/athletes and the attitude they came to practice and games with every single day.. Future is definitely looking bright for our boys basketball program!!" commented Coach Ramos. Thank you to the Clinton Local, family and friends for all of their support this season.

Wednesday night the 8th Grade Basketball team hosted LCAA foe, Brooklyn Columbia Central in a big league matchup. The Redwolves were victorious in the LCAA scoring, winning 27-24, but overall by the score of 40-29. "What a game tonight for the team. They executed some crucial out of bounds plays and found themselves pulling out a very nice win! The boys played extraordinary team defense all night and kept getting great looks at the rim (not all of them falling, but really tenacious takes). The boys just keep giving their best for each other and it shows ALL the time. Again, I'm so proud of them and their efforts every game. We keep coming to practice to get better and have fun. The team's next game will be Monday December12th @ Blissfield. Keep playing well fellas" commented Coach Ramos.

The 8th Grade Boys basketball team played host to the Bluestreaks from Ida last night, but were handed a 3 point loss (20-17) using LCAA scoring, in the overall score the Redwolves were the victors (31-23). "The team again played a fantastic game tonight and I'm so proud of their effort on the defensive end of the floor. They run a lot of screening action and the team communicated well to try and stifle them on offense. They threw a wrinkle at us by going to a 2-3 zone, which hardly we never see in our league and it took a few transitions to get the feel of it in our offense, but it was a little to late. The boys executed late game decisions very well to put themselves in a position to possibly hit a game winner or a tying bucket, but it wasn't to be. These kids are playing so unselfish and with a fight, like no other. However it just isn't showing in the W column, but I'm telling you these kids bring it every single night and for the most part have been out scoring their opponents overall all year. We will continue to push forward and work in practices to get better. The team plays this Wednesday December 7th vs Brooklyn Columbia Central. Come check these kids out". stated Coach Ramos

The 8th Grade boys hosted the Vikings of Dundee last night and took one on the chin, losing by the score of 14-12 (but were victoriuous in the real scoring 28-26). "THe boys continue to lay some really good defense in our games, we are just not finishing at the rim. We missed some FT's late that would have helped, but those missed lay ups earlier in the game would have been rally nice. Dundee brought their best against us, we just fell a bit short. So proud of these guys who keep playing team basketball and wanting it for their teammates. We will continue to work at practices and look at taking care of business on Monday December 5th when Ida will be coming to town." stated Coach Ramos

The 8th Grade Boys Basketball team was on the road again last night, traveling to Hillsdale to face the "Hornets". They came away with Loss on the evening. "We picked the wrong time to go cold from the field as the Hornets pulled away with the LCAA scoring rules (19-16, However if you were to add up the entire nights scoring the Redwolves would have won 50-28). You can't score only 13 points in the second half and expect to beat someone. We just let up after demolishing them in the first half. A lesson definitely learned as the team heads into the Thanksgiving Break and won't resume play until next Wednesday Nov 30th. The boys yet again played some amazing defense all night only allowing 9 points in the first half and only 4 points in the last quarter. We will continue to work and get better. I am very proud to be this teams coach!!" commented Coach Ramos.
SCORING: 20 pts: Ronan Stelzer; 10 pts: Decari Garrison; 9 pts Louie Della Badia; 7 pts Cole Hillegonds; 2 pts Broden Manchester; 1 pt Owen Barnhart

The 8th Grade Boys MS Basketball team traveled to Hudson to face the Tigers last night and came away with a big victory. "The boys played some outstanding defense on the night (being down to only 7 players, due to some illnesses on the team) they put together a great game on both ends of the floor. The team came out to earn the first three points of the game by winning all three first half quarters (30-15). The second half was a lot more lock down defense on the night. Our 1/2 court trap is getting us some easy transition layups, because of the teams effort and energy. Just hope we can keep this momentum up as we travel to Hillsdale tonight for another game. We held Hudson to only 13 second half points while we poured in 28. The final LCAA score was31-13 entire score 58-28). This was a great team effort tonight". stated Coach Ramos

The 8th Grade Boys Basketball team played their first HOME game of the season in front of a packed house and were able to come away with the victory over the visiting Blissfield Royals. "The boys played a really solid game last night and continue to show their hard work from practices, in the games. We have been working a lot with our 1/2 court trap concepts and tonight we were able to see some turnovers because we sped them up just like we wanted/needed to. The Redwolves were able to earn the "win" by the score of 19-14 (32-19 total score). Proud of the teams defensive effort all night, as they locked the Royals up all night."stated Coach Ramos. The Redwolves will play back to back next Monday and Tuesday, as they travel to Hudson and then Hillsdale.

The 8th Grade Boys basketball team traveled to Ida to face the Bluestreaks last night. The Bluestreaks were able to pull out the victory, by the score of 17-13 (real score 29-22). "The boys again are playing with a lot of effort, but last night it was a little uncharacteristic with the amount of turnovers we had. In the fourthe quarter the Redwolves were able to put their half court press into full effect. Being down 8 points at one point the team was able to cut the deficit to 14-13, but weren't able to take the lead. The team didn't quit and played with a lot of energy."commented Coach Ramos. The team will be on the road next Monday November 14th at Brooklyn Columbia Central.

The 8th Grade boys Middle School basketball season got underway last night, as the Redwolves traveled to Dundee to face the Vikings. The boys came away with an impressive road win by the score of 19-18 (real score 36-35, as the first 3 shortened quarters only count as a "single" point). "On the opening night of the season, it's nice to see the players execute, however as it is only the first game there were some miscues on defensesive assignments and offensively. However, there was no lack of effort, energy and enthusiasm all night. They boys stuck to these three concepts and Owen Barnhart hit a clutch baby jumber in the paint off a screen and roll with Louie Della Badia with about 20 seconds left in the game. From there the team played some tough defense, while the Vikings were unable to get a good shot off within that time. Proud of the team and we will get back after it at practice and we will be heading to Ida on Wednesday November 9th." stated Coach Ramos.
SCORING: 6 points Decari Garrison, Owen Barnhart; 5 pts Broden Manchester, Cole Hillegonds; 4 pts Ronan Stelzer, Louie Della Badia; 2 points Jake Halchishak, Jacob Pizio, Kyler Pawlowski
