Girls Varsity Volleyball vs. Grass Lake High School

The Varsity volleyball team fell in five tonight. In a series of exciting events the Redwolves held Grass Lake off up to the last point. (23-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-19, 11-15). The girls came out strong in the first game but couldn't quite  claim the win. The came back on fire taking a strong lead and taking down grass lake in the second set. The third  set again was taken from the Redwolves but they came back on fire in the fourth set. The Redwolves had a slow start in the fifth game but slowly gained traction as the game proceeded. Unfortunately it was not enough and the Redwolves fell by four.   Leaders Kaylee Kranz 17 kills, 18 digs Nalani Schanz 24 assists, 25 digs, 9 kills Aubrey Lauer 19 digs Lauren Sheneman 10 kills Stella Starnes 9 kills

The Redwolves had a tough day facing some great teams. Clinton started off playing Bad Axe splitting 25-15, 15-25 then faced Plymouth Christian, who would later on win the tournament 23-25, 12-25. The last team we faced in pool was Bay City dropping both 22-25, 12-25. After being placed in the silver bracket we faced Oakland Christian winning in two 25-13, 25-22. Next came the finals of the silver bracket where we faced Bad Axe again ultimately falling in three 24-26, 25-17, 13-15. The girls overcame injuries and multiple rotation changes and fought through it all. Today we were led by Kaylee Kranz with 15 aces, 32 Kills, 5 blocks, and 30 digs. Lauren Sheneman brought a big front row with 7 blocks and 16 kills along with 6 aces. Aby Freeman led the floor with 58 assists and 23 digs. Robin Mull and Nalani Schanz each had 20 and 21 digs respectively. Stella Starnes had 24 kills to help lead the front row as well.

The Redwolves had a tough night tonight as they faced LCS and Grass Lake. The Redwolves fell in both matches Grass Lake 10-25, 21-25 and LCS 13-25, 13-25. The girls struggled tonight on defense and offense making it tough to overtake both teams. We will see Grass Lake again in the first round of districts so this was a great way to prepare. Leaders Nalani Schanz 11 kills, 11 assists and 13 digs Kaylee Kranz 4 aces, 8 kills, and 13 digs Aby Freeman had 12 assists Aubrey Lauer had 11 digs

The Varsity Volleyball team took down Hudson in 3 sets tonight 25-17, 25-14, 25-9. Not only did they come out with a win but it was our annual PINK out night! We also had our youth join us tonight and show off their skills between each set during the JV and Varsity games. What a great night to honor those who have battled cancer and celebrate the youth that are up and coming.  Tonight the Redwolves were led by Kaylee Kranz 11 kills, 11 digs, and 3 aces. Nalani Schanz 7 kills, 17 assists, and 9 digs. Lauren Sheneman 6 kills, Eden Frederick 5 kills, Sammy Starnes 4 kills, 4 aces, and Aubrey Lauer had 13 digs.  Great job Redwolves!

The Clinton Redwolves had a great show at the Lenawee County tournament today. The Redwolves started strong facing Britton Deerfield in their first game of pool play, defeating them 25-12, 25-10. Next up the girls faced Onsted unfortunately they fell in two 23-25,  21-25. In their last game of pool play the Redwolves faced #1 Lenawee Christian nearly taking them down in the first set but ultimately falling 23-25, 15-25. Heading into the gold bracket Clinton was ranked 7 and set up to face #2 Adrian. In an exciting game of 3 sets the Redwolves cinched the win 25-21, 21-25, 16-14. Next the Redwolves were set to face Tecumseh in the semi-finals. The Redwolves took them down the first set 25-17 but the Indians came back and beat Clinton 18-25, 5-15. The leaders for the day were: Kaylee Kranz 53 kills, 57 digs Nalani Schanz 10 aces, 20 kills, 45 assists Aby Freeman 35 assists, 34 digs Lauren Sheneman 17 kills Aubrey Lauer 52 digs Great job Redwolves, they had a great day and battled hard!

Last night the Redwolves went 2-1 taking down Quincy (25-14, 20-25, 19-17), Climax Scotts (25-23. 25-17), and falling to Colon (25-18, 20-25, 12-15). Clinton had to battle each game, going to three sets for two of the matches. Each team brought intensity to the court challenging our front and back row. The girls played incredibly as they battled on offense and defense making it difficult for the opponent to score. Leading the defense was Aubrey Lauer with 33 digs and Kaylee Kranz with 24 digs. Offensively Kaylee Kranz led with 26 kills, Lauren Sheneman with 15 kills, Stella Starnes 10 kills. Nalani Schanz ran the offensive with 41 assists and  Aby Freeman had 13 assists before suffering an injury. All in all the girls worked hard to earn each win and played tough through their loss. They are stronger each game and are coming together to work hard!

The Redwolves took down Hillsdale tonight in a 3 game victory (25-17, 25-16, 25-19). The Redwolves took charge of each game early on pushing points quickly to over take the hornets. Nalani Schanz led the team with 22 assists followed by 10 digs and 5 kills. Kaylee Kranz brought power with 12 kills 5 aces and 11 digs. Sammy and Stella Starnes followed close behind with 7kills and 6 kills respectively while Aubrey Lauer led the defense with 14 digs. Lauren Sheneman and Eden Frederick held down the middle of the net with 4 kills and 3 kills a piece while also snagging 2 blocks and 1 block each. Overall we had a team effort tonight to take down the Hornets which will help us prepare as we head to Quincy on Thursday.

The Clinton Redwolves had a good day in Concord placing first in their pool with a 5-1 record against Madison (25-21, 25-23) Concord (25-17, 17-25) Springport (25-12, 25-16). The Redwolves then moved into bracket play against Olivet winning 25-11, 25-12. The team ran into Madison again in the semi finals falling 13-25, 24-26. Overall the Redwolves looked strong today with a strong offensive and defensive presence. Kaylee Kranz led the offense with 46 kills followed by Nalani Schanz 19 kills, Lauren Sheneman with 17 kills, and Eden Frederick with 12 kills. Nalani and Aby set the tempo with 49 assist and 40 assists respectively. Sammy Starnes had a strong presence at the serving line with 7 aces and Eden Frederick led the team with 7 blocks. Aubrey Lauer, Kaylee Kranz, and Nalani Schanz defended the back row with 44 digs, 31 digs, and 28 digs each.    It was not the ending we were expecting but the girls had a great day overall.

Redwolves fell tonight to the Onsted Wildcats (12-25, 14-25, 20-25). Aubrey Lauer and Kaylee Kranz led the back row with 9 digs. Nalani Schanz led the offense with 11 assists and Kaylee Kranz with 5 kills. Lauren Sheneman had a big presence up front with 4 blocks. It was a tough loss tonight for the Redwolves but the girls will take the next three days to prepare as they head off to the Concord tournament this weekend.

The Varsity volleyball team came out on top tonight as they defeated Blissfield (25-23, 25-18) Columbia Central (25-5, 25-16) and Napoleon (25-22, 25-20). The Redwolves had some key moments against their opponents where they came from behind and fought back to take the win. The Redwolves presented with a strong back row led by Kaylee Kranz 23 digs, Aubrey Lauer 22 digs, and Robin Mull with 17 digs. Nalani Schanz led the offense with 6 aces and 40 assists, Aby and Nalani worked together to assist Kaylee Kranz's 29 kills, Lauren Shenemans 17 kills, and Stella Starnes' 10 kills. In the last two games against Napoleon the setters found the hole in the middle of Napoleons defense with two strategic tips to help Clinton regain control. It was a full team effort to take down each of these teams and the girls helped one another stay consistent and United.

It was senior night for the Varsity Volleyball team and the Clinton Redwolves did not disappoint as they brought down the Dundee Vikings in three tonight. (25-22, 25-13, 26-24) The Redwolves were led tonight by Kaylee Kranz with 13 kills and 14 digs. Robin Mull held down the libero position with 17 digs followed by Sammy Starnes with 9 digs and Aubrey Lauer with 8 digs. Stella Starnes also had a strong front row presence with 8 kills followed by Nalani Schanz with 4 aces, 6 kills, 23 assists, and 6 digs. Each Redwolve had a role to play tonight as they overcame the Vikings. They dominated from the net to defense, consistently putting the ball down in all the right places. Congrats to the team and their big victory!

The Varsity Redwolves took down the Blissfield Royals in 3 sets (25-23, 25-17, 25-19). Nalani Schanz led the team with 12 digs, 17 assists, and 6 kills. Robin Mull had 12 digs for the night in the libero position and Kaylee Kranz led from the outside with 12 kills, 11 digs and 2 blocks. The Redwolves led the evening with a strong offense and defended the net with power. The team also showed strength from the serving line with 10 aces as a team. Congrats to the Redwolves on their league win for the night!

The Clinton Redwolves volleyball team had a great day at the Ypsi Lincoln tournament today. Despite only have seven girls, due to injury and illness, the Redwolves went 4-2 against Monroe(24-26, 25-22), Chelsea(26-24, 22-25), and Belleville(25-21, 25-18), in pool play seeding them 4th out of 12 teams overall. In quarter finals the Redwolves took on #5, New Boston, taking them to three but falling in the end. (21-25, 25-20, 13-15). The team was led by Nalani Schanz who had 67 assists and 19 digs, Kaylee Kranz who had 19 kills and 28 digs, Susi Antognozzi with 24 kills, 7 aces, and 26 digs, Robin mull with 36 digs, Sammy Starnes with 13 kills and 33 digs, and Stella Starnes with 14 kills.

Redwolves fell to Madison tonight in 5 games (19-25, 25-17, 25-23, 22-25, 10-15) Overall the play between Madison and Clinton was intense. There were many pivotal moments throughout the games as each team battled for the victory. Some highlights of the game were form the serving line where we had three leaders Nalani Schanz 3 aces, Susi Antognozzi 4 aces, and Aubrey Lauer who led with 5 aces. There was also a great defensive presence from our back row where Susi had 10 digs and Aubrey had 14 digs. Our front row brought the heat with Nalani Schanz leading the team with 11 killls, followed by Stella Starnes with 9 kills, and Kaylee Kranz with 8 kills. Not only did Nalani lead in kills but also in assists with 16 total for the evening. While it was a tough battle we learned a lot through our highs and lows for the night making us stronger for our upcoming tournament this weekend.

The Varsity volleyball team went 3-1 for the evening beating  Hillsdale (25-18, 25-15)  Hudson (25-18, 26-24) and Onsted (25-12, 17-25, 15-10) Falling to Dundee in the first match (12-25, 12-25). Overall the team had a good night battling back on several occasions. Good job team! The Varsity volleyball team fell in their first two matches of the season. Homer 24-26, 18-25 Lincoln 25-23, 23-25, 9-15. While it wasn't what we had expected the girls battled close with both teams.    Leaders for the day: Kaylee Kranz 15 digs, 12 kills Nalani Schanz 18 assists, 8 kills Kaylee honoway 15 digs Sammy Starnes 6 kills
