Wrestling Defeats Hillsdale and Madison

Clinton finished up LCAA dual action at Hillsdale on Wednesday, Jan. 26th.  Clinton improves to 26-3 on the year.  The redwolves competed against Hillsdale first and won 64-18.  Earning pins against Hillsdale were Nate Smith at 189, Logan Badge at 215, Zak Shadley at 125, Ethan Younts at 145, and Kent McCombs at 160.  Connor Busz at 119 and Coy Perry at 135 both earned technical falls.  Others with wins were Braylon Long at 103, Connor Younts at 112, Chase Packard at 130, and Maurice Ames at 140.  Gage Blackburn earned a pin in extra matches as well.  Clinton then faced Adrian Madison and won 83-0.  Earning pins against Madison were Logan Badge at 189, Wyatt Hicks at 215, Hamza Rafferty at heavyweight, Braylon Long at 103, Connor Younts at 112, Connor Busz at 119, Zak Shadley at 130, Maurice Ames at 135, Coy Perry at 140, Joey Preston at 152, Kent McCombs at 160, and Jake Felts at 171.  Chase Packard earned a technical fall 21-4, and Ethan Younts was the winner at 145.  Wrestlers earning wins in extra matches were Nate Arntz at 103 with a pin, Dylan Badge at 125 with a pin, Bryce Rosacrans at 215 with a pin, Gage Blackburn at 152 with a pin, and Rourke Solomonson at 152 with a pin.  The team will compete at the Lenawee County Meet Friday, Jan. 28th starting at 5pm.  The top four wrestlers in each weight class in Lenawee County are invited to compete at the All Star Meet.  Clinton has 13 boys participants and one alternate.  New this year they are including girls matches and two Clinton girls will be highlighted in between rounds as well.  For the girls, Faith Blackburn and Leanne Mercier will be competing in the meet.  The rest of our girls will travel to Ovid Elsie for a girls tournament on Friday, Jan. 28th that starts at 5pm.  The boys that were selected are:  Braylon Long - Freshman at 103, Connor Younts - Sophomore at 112, Connor Busz - Junior at 119, Zak Shadley - Junior at 125, Chase Packard - Senior at 130, Coy Perry - Sophomore at 135, Maurice Ames - Sophomore at 140, Ethan Younts - Junior at 145, Joey Preston - Sophomore at 152, Kent McCombs - Senior at 160, Jake Felts - Freshman at 171, Logan Badge - Senior at 189, Wyatt Hicks - Sophomore at 215 (alternate), Brandon Felts - Junior at Hwt.   This is a huge honor and we look forward to competing in front of the county crowd.
