The girls varsity wrestling team traveled to Grand Rapids Northview High School on Saturday, January 15th for an all girls tournament.  Clinton came away with six placers on the day.  At 130 pounds sophomore Faith Blackburn won the tournament championship after picking up five pins on the day.  Faith pinned each of her opponents in the first period on her way to the championship.  Michelle Arntz placed second at 110 pounds earning her highest placement of the year.  Michelle picked up two pins during the tournament.  Leanne Mercier placed second at 160 pound combined weight class.  Leanne started her day with 11-3 major decision, then picked up a pin in the second round.  Leanne lost to the eventual champ in the third round, but bounced back to pick up another pin in her final match to place second.  Raven Aldridge competed at 135 pounds and placed third on the day.  Raven dropped her first two matches of the day in the the round robin bracket, but battled back to pick up some nice wins to finish her day in third place.  Jayden Rosza picked up an opening round pin and battled throughout the day to place fourth at 160 pounds.  Taylor Randolph placed fourth at 145 pounds after wrestling in a combined weight class.  The girls travel to Fowlerville High School on Friday, Jan. 21st with wrestling starting at 5pm.
