Wrestling traveled to Blissfield for an LCAA quad with Hudson and Columbia Central.  Clinton opened the night against division 4 #1 Hudson and lost a close match to the Tigers.  Clinton still battling to get all starters healthy and in the line up fell short tonight.  The match started off at 215 pounds where Wyatt Hicks gave up a technical fall to Logan Sallows 0-15.  Brandon Felts made his season debut at heavyweight tonight and defeated Ethan Harris of Hudson 3-2.  At 103 Braylon Long picked up the pin in 51 seconds and put Clinton up 9-5.  Connor Younts earned a 13-3 major decision at 112 pounds over Tucker Miller to make the team score Clinton 13 Hudson 5.  At 119 pounds Connor Busz grabbed a 9-4 decision over Julien Kimling to put Clinton up 16-5.  Chase Packard came back tonight but gave up an 0-8 major decision to Cole Marry at 125 pounds.  At 130 pounds Zak Shadley had a great match that went in to the ultimate tie breaker of overtime and lost 3-4 to Austin Marry.  Coy Perry stepped in at 135 pounds and picked up a 10-0 major decision over Kannon Marry.  At 140 Maurice Ames lost by technical fall 4-21 to Jackson Miller.  The team score after 140 pounds was Clinton 20 Hudson 17.  Nik Shadley stepped on the mat for the first time this year and took on Payton Rogers another returning all state wrestler and lost in the last seconds of the match 6-8.  At 152 pounds Ethan Younts was pinned by Bronson Marry.  At 160 pounds Joey Preston started out electrifying the crowd but made a costly mistake in the second period and was pinned by Calix Campbell making the team score Clinton 20 Hudson 32.  Kent McCombs was back on the mat tonight and earned a 15-0 technical fall at 171 pounds over Logan Ryan of Hudson.  Team score Clinton 25 Hudson 32.  Clinton forfeited the last weight of the night at 189 pounds to make the final score Clinton 25 Hudson 38.  

In the second match of the night Clinton faced a short handed Columbia Central team and defeated them 83-0.  Collecting pins were Wyatt Hicks at 189, Brandon Felts at heavyweight, Connor Younts at 112, Zak Shadley at 125, and Ethan Younts at 145 pounds.  Braylon Long collected an 18-0 technical fall at 103.  Others with wins over Columbia were, Connor Busz, Chase Packard, Coy Perry, Maurice Ames, Joey Preston, Kent McCombs, Jake Felts, and Bryce Rosacrans.  

Clinton varsity girls will travel to Grand Rapids Northview this Saturday with wrestling starting at 9am.  Our Varsity boys will travel to Williamston for an individual tournament with wrestling starting at 9am as well.  Clinton's dual record stands now at 20 wins and 1 loss.
