At the boys home JV tournament on Saturday, Dec. 18th the boys excelled with multiple placers.  Sophomore Bryce Rosacrans earned the tournament championship at 215 pounds.  This was Bryce's second tournament championship in a row.  Bryce picked up a pin a just 44 seconds over Christian Bamm of Napoleon.  In the second round Bryce scored a 9-4 win over Aiden Duncan of Jackson Parma Western.  In the finals Rosacrans took care of business with a first period pin in just 1:07 over Joel Fish of Constantine.  At Heavyweight Hamza Rafferty picked a third place finish on the day.  Hamza collected a first round bye, then picked up a pin in 39 seconds over Xzaryvier Blanck of Holt.  Hamza then lost to Cameron Miller of Addison in the semi finals.  Rafferty picked up another pin in 3:00 over Joshua Carr of Holt to finish in third place.  

At 152 pounds Gage Blackburn placed 4th on the day picking up a first round pin over Paul Miller of Holt in 2:42.  Gage then earned a pin in just 51 seconds over Adam Carlson of Jackson Parma Western to put him in the semi finals.  Blackburn then dropped a hard fought 3-4 match to Hunter Callahan of Napoleon.  Gage dropped his final match to Jack Borgman of Laingsburg to take 4th.  At 145 pounds Rourke Solomonson took 3rd place.  Rourke earned a first round victory with a decision 11-4 over T. Matthews.  In round two Rourke dropped his match to B. Smith.  In the third round Rourke dropped a close 3-4 decision to Z. Grandy.  Rourke picked up a pin in round four over R. DiDormenico in 3:19.  In the fifth and final round Rourke grabbed another pin in 5:22 over I. McGee.  Wyatt Federer wrestled tough at 140 and picked up a 16-5 major decision over Eli Pardee of Jackson Parma Western, but dropped two other matches and fell short of placing.  Aiden Johnson picked up a win over team mate Reed Patrick with pin in 3:21 but both Reed and Aiden fell short of placing.  Dylan Badge took second place at 135 pounds after picking up a first round pin over Yondel Aponte of Constantine in 1:55.  Round two Dylan picked up a 9-6 decision to put him in the semi finals.  Dylan then picked up another pin in just 46 seconds over Nik Hoffman of Lansing Waverly and advance to the finals.  Dylan lost a tough match to Collin Doederlein of Jackson Parma Western to take second. At a combined weight class of 103 and 112 Nate Arntz battled to earn 3rd place up a weight class.  Nate lost in round one to K. Engelter, then lost to S. Hosford before rattling off three straight wins in his round robin bracket.  In round three Nate picked up a 13-3 major decision over F. Schroeder.  In round four Arntz picked up a pin at the end of the third period.  In final round Nate defeated C. Williams with a medical forfeit to earn third place.  

Overall the JV boys wrestled well and we were happy with how they competed.  We look forward to their continued development through hard work.
