The varsity wrestling team wrestled in the Regional meet at Bendle High school and came home with the title. The first dual was against Bendle and the Redskins cruised 66-15 to advance tot he final against 4th ranked Manchester. The dual started at 130 pounds and freshman Spencer Konz got the Redskins started off right with a 6-0 win. After a loss at 135 pounds junior Riley Jeffrey took the mat and secured a pin in just 1:32. Next up was Jeffrey Konz and he scored a late takedown to get a major decision and put the Redskins up 13-3. A loss at 152 was followed by wins at 160 by Brayden Randolph and one at 171 by Eathen Hicks. Trent Sexton took the mat and got a pin in 3:37 seconds to make the score 25-6. A Manchester pin at 215 closed the gap but Don Stump got a major decision and AJ Baxter sealed the win with a decision before a Manchester pin at 112 made the score 32-18. Clinton go their 9th and 10th wins on the night by pin at 119 from Noah Comar in :45. Then Christian Minard closed the meet and scoring with a major decision at 125 pounds. That made the final 42-18 and sent the team on to the final 8 at Kalamzoo wings arena. The wrestling team is currently 32-4 and ranked 2nd in the most recent poll. Individual regionals are this Saturday at New Lothrop where 13 individuals will try to earn their trip to the finals at Ford Field.
