Clinton Invite: Friday 1/21

Friday CMS hosted a dual meet tournament that included some of the top middle school teams in the state. Clinton fielded 2 different teams (Clinton Red and Clinton Black) that all competed against Dundee, Lowell, Flat Rock, and Leslie middle schools.

Clinton Red

vs Flat Rock 72-27

Great job in their first middle school dual meet by 6th graders Liam McClain, Grady Aldridge, Jaxon Phillip, Wyatt Cooley, Braxton Randolph, and Gradyn Whelan.

vs Dundee 27-65

Against a very talented Dundee team, Liam McClain started the dual off with a great 6-2 win. Jaxon Phillip got taken down early and wrestled through it for a huge pin. Colt Perry got a quick pin. Sammy Stewart won a close 1-0 match. Brenden Benschoter picked up a 5-0 win. And Will Hawkins finished it off with a pin. Cliff Jones and Bryce Randolph showed good hustle and toughness in their losses.

vs Leslie 91-6

CMS wrestlers showed some grit, bouncing back after a rare and tough dual meet loss. Standout performances from Wyatt Cooley who showed some good movement in an 11-1 win, and Gabbi Pearce who wrestled well in her first day of competition.

vs Lowell 60-42

Clinton wrestlers did a great job rising to another challenge late in the night against a very solid Lowell Middle School. Liam McClain, Jaxon Philip, Colt Perry, Braxton Randolph, Tanner Bolton, Cliff Jones, Bryce Randolph, and Will Hawkins picked up pins for their team. Wyatt Cooley, Sammy Stewart, and Braden Broderick also won.

Clinton Black

Clinton Black competed well against the same 4 teams. All wrestlers competed hard with many at bumped up weight classes. Annabell Preston came out with a couple of very gritty wins. Jake Halchishak, Isaac Kiebler, Joe Hodges, and Aubree Mclain all performed well, along with many others.  Luther Fultz went 3-1 for the night.

Liam Mclain, Jaxon Phillip, Colt Perry, Sammy Stewart, and Will Hawkins were 4-0 on the day.
