The Clinton Middle School boys’ track team won its opening meet of the season with an 82-45 against Whiteford. Garrett Beazley won the shot put with a distance of 33′ 1″ while second and third place went to Matt Johnson at 32′ 3.5″ and Logan Badge at 27′. Zak Shadley won the long jump at 16′ 2.5″ and Derek Tomalak was second with 14′ 10.5″. George Ames and Kent McCombs tied for first in the pole vault with a height of 6′ while Nate Smith won the high jump at 4′ 10″. Brennan Schnaidt was second in the high jump at 4′ 8″. Devon Curry was second in the 55m hurdles at 10.4 seconds. The 800m relay team of Badge, Curry, Smith and McCombs won going away. Caden Zbikowski placed second in the 1600m run while Clinton swept the 100m dash lead by Schnaidt, Tomalak and Logan DeVitto. The 3200m relay team of Dylan Bowles, Garrett Beazley, Samuel Hoffman and Fabian Ramirez placed first with an impressive time of 11:48.3. Ames, Beazley and Bowles swept the 70m dash with times of 9.7, 10.3 and 10.4 respectively. Placing third in the 200m hurdles was Carter Keith at 33.8 seconds. Shadley won the 200m dash at 26.3 seconds and Lucas Richie was third at 30.9 seconds. The 1600m relay team of Ramirez, Smith, Max Hampel and Zbikowski placed first at 4:49.5 and the 400m relay team of Shadley, McCombs, Schnaidt and Ames won in 53.6 seconds. The team will travel to Whitmore Lake on Wednesday and East Jackson on Friday.
