Brenden Benschoter, Eli Turner and the girls 4x200 relay team of Khloie Miller, Bella Bannon, Madelyn McGraw, and Ella Claus qualified for the MHSAA LP Finals at the Region 28-3 meet at Madison High School on Saturday. Benschoter finished 2^nd in the long jump with a distance of 20’10.5”. Turner finished 2^nd in the high jump with a height of 6’0”. The relay team also finished 2^nd with a time of 1:51.48. They will join Mason Brodie who had previously qualified in the discus and the shot put. Brodie was the regional champion in the discus and was runner-up in the shot put. Bannon and Claus will also participate in the state finals in additional events having previously qualified in the high jump and 400m respectively at earlier competitions. As a team, the girls finished 11^th and the boys finished 5^th.

Other medalists for the girls on the day were:

• Bella Bannon finished 3^rd in the 400m with a personal best of 1:02.66.
• Morgan Hill finished 5^th in the high jump.
• Ella Claus finished 6^th in the 800m with a personal best of 2:30.55.
• Khloie Miller finished 7^th in the pole vault.
• Claus, Grace Farrell, Kylee Jordan, and Bannon finished 7^th in the 4x400 relay.
• Lila Randall, Katelyn Baker, Madelyn McGraw, and Leah Brown finished 8^th in the 4x100 relay.

Personal bests were also set in the following:

• Abbie Wahl in the 200m (31.39)
• Farrell in the 1600m (6:02.79)

Other medalists for the boys were:

• Gabe Manchester finished 4^th in the 1600m and 5^th in the 3200m.
• Cole Hillegonds finished 5^th in the 400m.
• Hillegonds, Joe Hodges, Cory Hoover and Broden Manchester finished 7^th in the 4x200 relay.
• Peter Baker finished 8^th in the high jump
• Broden Manchester finished 8^th in the pole vault.

Personal bests were achieved by:

• Hodges in the 400m (57.11)
• Anthony Salzano in the 800m (2:39.49)
• Austin Strand in the 1600m (5:00.30)

The next meet will be the Lenawee County Championship on May 27.
