Game Date
Apr 29, 2022

The Clinton girls placed third out of ten teams at Hinsdale Invitational hosted by Sand Creek on Friday. Napoleon won the meet followed by Morenci. Once again, the field event crew got the Redwolves off to a great start highlighted by Aubrey Lauer's first place finish in the long jump. Freshman Ruby Faulkner soared to a personal best in the high jump, clearing four feet, six inches, good enough for fourth place. Sister Griffin Faulkner vaulted to a season best eight feet and took the silver medal. Senior Mykell Brodie contributed third place points in the shot put with a distance of 30 feet, 5 inches.

The Redwolves are establishing themselves as a premier sprint school in the area. The 4x100 relay team of Griffin Faulkner, Mykell Brodie, Brynn Frederick, and Aubrey Lauer dominated the event to break the tape in 54.62. Freshman Zoey Sierer replaced Brodie in the 4x200 and took second place. In the open sprints, Brynn Frederick and Griffin Faulkner went 5-6 to add to the team score. Frederick ran a season best 28.76 in the 200 to finish runner-up. Speedy Freshman Katelynn Baker raced to a new personal record in the 100 hurdles, running 19.85 and taking fifth place.

This distance crew was led by first year track runner Allison Bowles. She set personal records in both the 800 (2:46) and 1600 (6:12) to take fourth and fifth.

"Juniors Brynn Frederick and Griffin Faulkner medaled in all four events today and they continue to lead our young team. Freshmen Ruby Faulkner, Aubrey Lauer, and Zoey Sierer and continuing to improve, building the type of deep team I'm hoping to build at Clinton.

Clinton boys placed 5th out of 12. Scoring for the Clinton Redwolves were Matt Urbanczyk in the 800 in 4th at 2:16, Gabe Nelson in the 1600m in 4th at 4:57, Eric Neff in the 1600m in 6th at 4:57, Gabe Nelson in 2nd in the 3200m at 10:20, 4x800m relay in 6th at 9:30 including Gabe Manchester, Matthew Urbanczyk, Eric Neff and Gabe Nelson, Mason Brodie in 2nd in the shotput with a new PR of 42'10.5", Mason Brodie in 6th in the discus with new PR of 119'1", Grant Stockford in first in the high jump with a new PR of 6'0", Bryson VanSickle in 2nd in the high jump at 5'10", and Zak Shadley in 4th in the long jump at 18'.5".

The kids are having fun and enjoying the process. Hopefully, we'll get some warmer weather so the jumpers and sprinters can start to see even more growth. It's an amazing group of kids, and I'm thankful for the support of their parents and guardians. Volunteer coaches Connor Brodie and Rich DeWald are having a huge impact on the program, and Coach Hubbard is doing a fantastic job with the jumpers and hurdlers," noted Coach Adler.
