The Clinton JV volleyball team participated in the JV LCAA tournament on Saturday at Onsted high school. Clinton was seated number one followed by Ida, Adrian Madison and Onsted. The first match of the day Clinton defeated Hillsdale 25-11 and 25-12. Clinton then faced the Onsted Wildcats in the Semi-final match of the day. The Redwolves’ ball control and great serving played a crucial role in capturing the win over the Wildcats 25-14 and 25-17.

The  #2 seeded team, Ida, won the other semifinal game by defeating Adrian Madison. The Finals are set with the #1 and #2 teams battling it out for the League title.Ida was running on all cylinders as they came to play in the first set and beat the Redwolves 25 to 17. Clinton showed pose and determination in the second set  to come back to capture the second set 25-19. The Redwolves had the momentum on their side during the third set however, Ida regained the lead at 10-7. After the Redwolves’ time out, Clinton’s net play was unstoppable. Jackie Whiting served 7 straight serves while her teammates played solid defense and aggressive net play to capture the win 15-10 over the Ida Bluestreaks.

The JV volleyball record is 32-4-4 and 10-0 in the LCAA.

Avery Loftis led the team with 26 serving points, 7 aces, 97% serving accuracy, 22 assists, 7 kills, and 15 digs.

Megan Hammarberg had 20 serving points, 8 aces, 90% serving accuracy, 13 assists, 9 digs and 2 kills.

Ashlynn Benschoter had 20 points, 5 aces, 97% serving accuracy, led the team with 42 digs, 1 kill and 1 assist.

Jackie Whiting had 16 points, 7 aces 95% serving accuracy, led the team with 11 kills and 17 digs.

Kaylin Sposite had 9 points, 3 aces, 100% serving accuracy, 8 kills and 2 digs.

Finnley Faulkner had the team high in blocks with 5, and had 7 kills.

Kylinn Long had 8 serving points, 1 ace, 95% serving accuracy, 6 kills, 15 digs, 

Cora Harsh had 3 service points with 1 ace, 4 kills, 4 assists, and 2 digs.

Zoey Utz had 3 kills, 3 assists and 1 dig.

Bella Bannon had 1 kill and 1 dig.
