The Clinton JV Volleyball team brought home the gold as they defeated Hillsdale Academy in 2 sets for the win at the Jonesville Tournament. 

In the morning during pool play the Redwolves beat Springport but split with both Hillsdale Academy and  Jonesville. With a 4-2 record in Pool play Clinton was the  second place team and was paired with the number one team, the Addison Panthers for the Semi-final match in the Gold Bracket. 

The Redwolves showed their determination to face  Hillsdale Academy again  as they hammered  the Panthers 25-17 and 25-18. This set up the final match between Clinton and Hillsdale Academy,  as Hillsdale Academy also won their semi-final match over the Hillsdale Hornets.

The first set of the title match was a great battle. Clinton caught a break on Hillsdale  match point and forced an overtime to win 27-25. The Redwolves competitive drive carried them during the second set, beating Hillsdale Academy 25-15. Coach Cornish stated, “the team’s intensity and uptempo style of play was most impressive during the championship game."

Clinton raised their record to 21-2-4.

Tournament Highlights 

Brailey Gibson led the team with 32 service points, 6 aces, 15 kills, and 25 digs.

Avery Loftis had 27 service points, 3 aces, 9 kills, led the team with 37 assists, and 23 digs.

Calli Kruger had 24 service points with 7 aces, led the team with 62 digs, 2 assists, 32 serve receive passes and 1 kill.

Megan Hammarberg had 24 service points with 5 aces, 2 kills, 9 digs, 27 assists.

Jackie Whiting had 21 points, with 8 aces, led the team with 26 kills, 23 digs and 23 serve receive passes.

Kylinn Long had 12 points, 2 aces, 5 kills, 2 blocks, and 9 digs.

Finnley Faulkner had 15 points and 4 blocks.

Zoey Utz had 8 kills, 5 assists and 2 digs.

Cora Harsh had 3 kills, 2 blocks and 2 assists.

Bella Bannon had 3 digs, 3 serve receive passes and 1 kill.
