On Saturday the Junior  Varsity volleyball team participated in a 12 team tournament at Hanover-Horton High School. Clinton had a great start defeating Athens in pool play, splitting with LCS then got back on their winning ways by defeating Michigan Center. With their 5-1 record Clinton was seeded 3rd in the Gold bracket. During the Final four play-offs the #1 seeded team Portage Northern was eliminated by the host school Hanover Horton in 2 straight sets. # 3 Clinton was paired with # 2 Parma Western in the next match. The Redwolves but up a great fight but Western had too many weapons and defeat them in 2 sets. Portage Northern and Clinton tied for third place and finished the day with a 5-3 record. Coach Cornish was happy to see the Redwolves use great teamwork to compete throughout the day and  to land in the Gold Bracket after pool play.

Tournament Highlights

Jackie Whiting led the team 32 for 36 serving 25 points 9 aces 7 kills 1 block 15 digs 9 assists 13 serve receive passes.

Megan Hammarberg went 26 for 26 serving 21 points 4 aces 6 digs and led the team with  11 assists 

Brailey Gibson went 27 for 28 serving 19 points 6 aces 5 kills 5 digs 12 serve receive passes.

Eden Frederick went 16 for 20 serving 8 points 2 aces led the team in kills with 16 1 block and 3 digs

Ruby Faulkner went 28 for 29 serving 17 points 5 aces 12 kills 1 block 12 digs 1 assist.

Finnley Faulkner went 4 for 4 serving  2 points 1ace 6 kills led the team in blocks with 3 scores.

Annabell Preston went 14 for 14 serving 8 points 2 aces 14 digs and 12 serve  receive passes 

Korynn Allen went 11 for 11 for 5 points 1 ace 3 kills 4 assists 

Aubrey Lauer went 4 for 6 serving 2 points 1 ace 14 digs and 20 serve receive passes.

Genevieve Urban had 2 kills 3 digs 

Annabelle Kerr had 14 serve  receive passes and 3 digs and 1 kill.

Clinton now stands at 11-8-2. Tuesday Clinton will battle Onsted at home for the Annual Pink out game.
