Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball vs. Multiple Opponents

On Friday the Clinton JV Volleyball team hosted their own Tournament to start the season.
It was a great day of volleyball play with all the teams involved. The team played well and played hard throughout the day. In pool play the girls would first face Ypsilanti Lincoln they would lose game one 18-25 and then go on to win the next two 25-23 and 27-25. In match number two the girls would then face Leslie. Game one would go to Leslie by just a small margin of 23-25. The girls would bounce back and go on to take games two and three winning 26-24 and 25-17. The team would come out first in their pool with a 4-2 record and would be seated number two overall for the tournament. Bracket play would then begin, the girls would then face soon to be LCAA Foe Ida in the semi-finals. The girls would come up short with the win losing to Ida 17-25 and 19-25. Ida would then move on to the finals.
Overall it was a good start to our season, we learned as a team what we need to work on and continue to grow as the season plays on.
For the day the team was led by Taylor Randolph with 9 kills, 17 digs, 15 points and 5 aces. Mackenzie Brandvold had 9 kills, 11 points and 6 aces. Emma Fair with 7 kills, 2 blocks, 21 points and 11 aces. Brynn Frederick had 4 kills, 13 assists, 8 digs, 16 points and 6 aces. Josilyne Schanz had 5 points, 2 blocks, 5 digs, 20 points and led the team with 13 aces with strong serving on the day. Breanna Ramos led the team with 17 assists, 8 digs, 7 points and 5 aces.
The girls will play next on Tuesday August 27th when they travel to Vandercook Lake for a Tri-match starting at 5pm.
