Starting the game with only five players due to injury and illness, and finishing with four was too much to handle, as the girls lost to Britton Deerfield 36-18. This small team has a great heart and gritty determination. They fought as hard as they could, all the way to the final buzzer, despite being outnumbered. Making strides toward improvement is the goal, and they’re working hard to reach it. Davia Welch had a career high 8 points (1 three pointer) and 10 rebounds. MacKenzie Brandvold also had a career high 7 points and 12 boards. Austyn Schuler finished the night with 3 points and 5 boards. Neither Emily Gilroy or Eliana Dotson reached the scoreboard, but they played hard defensively, contributing 7 and 9 rebounds respectively. Their next contest will be a week from now, Friday the 25th, hosting Summerfield. Whitmore Lake does not have a JV team, so they will not play on Tuesday.
