Clinton, MI – The Clinton Varsity Redwolves were firing on all cylinders this week, posting back-to-back shutout victories over the Hillsdale Varsity Hornets with a combined score of 42-0. Stellar pitching, explosive offense, and flawless defense defined Clinton’s two-game sweep.

Game 1 Recap – 22-0 Victory:
Clinton wasted no time putting pressure on Hillsdale in the series opener, scoring an incredible 16 runs in the first inning. Taryn Hernandez launched a three-run homer to right field, Lola Szczesniak hit a solo inside-the-park home run, and Calli Kruger added a two-run inside-the-park shot. Raven Aldridge, Brenna Broman, Mya Popkey, and Lydia Ormsby each chipped in with RBI hits as the Redwolves piled on.

The offensive fireworks continued in the second inning with six more runs, including inside-the-park home runs from Erin Burton and triple from Lexi Tzortzinis. Hernandez was dominant in the circle, throwing a three-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks. Clinton finished with 15 hits and six stolen bases, and didn’t commit a single error.

Game 2 Recap – 20-0 Victory (Tuesday):
Just hours later, the Redwolves put up another jaw-dropping performance in game two, this time led by Kaylin Sposite. The sophomore slugger crushed two inside-the-park home runs—one in the first and another in the second—and drove in four runs.

Clinton scored 11 in the second inning behind Sposite’s blast, a triple and double from Cora Harsh, a triple from Aldridge, and multiple Hillsdale defensive miscues. In the third, Sposite added a triple, and Hernandez contributed a run-scoring double as the Redwolves plated seven more.

Brenna Broman tossed a gem, recording another no-hitter for Clinton with eight strikeouts and just two walks over three innings. The Redwolves tallied 13 hits, drew six walks, and once again played error-free defense.

Team Notes:
Across both games, Clinton’s offense racked up 28 hits, 12 walks, and 42 runs while allowing zero hits and zero runs. Standout performers included:

Taryn Hernandez: HR, 3 RBIs (Game 1); RBI double (Game 2); 8 Ks in 3 IP

Kaylin Sposite: 2 HRs, triple, 4 RBIs (Game 2)

Raven Aldridge: 2 triples, 4 RBIs across both games

Brenna Broman: No-hitter, 8 Ks in Game 2; 2 hits and RBI in Game 1

Cora Harsh: Triple, double, 2 RBIs (Game 2)

Clinton Varsity Redwolves will look to continue their hot streak as they travel to Lincoln for their next matchup on Thursday.
