Clinton went 2-1 at the Reese Invitational today, winning the tournament with the least amount of runs allowed despite their loss of game 2. There was a 3-way tie with the 2-1 record between Hemlock and Standish-Sterling. Clinton allowed only 12 runs on the day, therefore came home with the trophy. Game 1 (7-1) vs Hemlock. Kendall Phillip was the winning pitcher, allowing just 2 hits, 1 walk, with 15 strikeouts. She also led the offense with a perfect 3-3 at the plate with an RBI and a walk. Taryn Hernandez was the only other multiple hitter going 2-4. Kylinn Long and Lola Szczesniak both came up big with an RBI single a piece. Game 2 (6-9) vs Standish Sterling. Taryn Hernandez took the loss allowing 10 hits with a walk and 5 strikeouts. Heading into the 7th, Clinton was down 9-2 and made a run, just coming up short with the tying run up to bat. Lola Szczesniak was 2-4 with 2 RBI and Phillip added an RBI double. Raven Aldridge added a single and a SAC fly scoring 1. Game 3 (9-0) vs Reese. Brenna Broman was the winning pitcher allowing 4 hits with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Phillip had an RBI single and 2 stolen bases while Szczesniak finished with a single and 3 RBI. Kaylin Sposite also added an RBI single and Annabell Preston finished 1-2. Clinton finishes regular season 28-10, with a LCAA title and will begin preparations for the upcoming postseason.
