The Clinton JV football team played the Hornets of Hillsdale on Monday night at Wegner Field, and were able to pick up a big win with a final score of 57 to 6. Clinton started their scoring quickly on the night with a 27 yard touchdown run by Isaac Keibler, and two point conversion by Daejaun Garrison. After Paul Blanchard recovered a Hillsdale fumble on the next kickoff, the Redwolves would march down the field again and score on a 6 yard Gradyn Whelan pass to Brock Worden, and two point conversion run by Braxton Randolph. After the Clinton defense caused a turnover on downs the offense would march down the field and score again, this time on a 35 yard touchdown pass from Whelan to Garrison. On the next kickoff, Jake Halchishak would cause a fumble and Jonah Hahn would recover it to give the Redwolves offense the ball back again. It would not take long for them to find the endzone, and three plays later Whelan would score on a 19 yard run. Drew Erickson’s point after attempt would split the uprights as well tacking on another point for the Redwolves. The Redwolves defense would cause another fumble and get a big return out of it setting up their offense for another score. This score would come from a 7 yard run by Randolph, and the two point conversion would come on a pass from Whelan to Garrison. After forcing a Hillsdale punt, the Clinton offense would score once more on another Randolph run, this one from 11 yards away, and Erickson would add another point after attempt. After half, Clinton would come out and force a punt and then march down the field and score once more on a pass from Wyatt Cooley to Bryce Martinez from 7 yards out, and Erickson would add another extra point kick. Hillsdale would add a touchdown of their own, but the two point conversion would be stopped on a Jacob Pope interception. Clinton’s offense would add one more touchdown to the scoreboard as Jaxon Phillip would take one in from 66 yards out. Another great team performance for the Redwolves! They are back in action next Monday, October 21st at 6 pm at Wegner Field, as the Hudson Tigers come to town.
