Playing on back to back nights is a difficult task at all levels of basketball. Especially for high school kids with classes and all the other distractions teenagers face. The JV Redwolves had a gritty performance battling through those things. On Tuesday the Redwolves played Stockbridge at home. Stockbridge came out in a zone and made it very hard for the boy to get to the rim and with tired legs, the shots were not falling. Despite this the defense remained in tact. The Redwolves dropped the first quarter 6-7, but bounced back and took a halftime lead of 10-9 (whole lot of offense). The boys remained patient offensively and played good defense. Stockbridge came out though and had a great stretch in the 3rd quarter, the Redwolves trailed at the end of 3 quarters, 21-15. The Redwolves woke up offensively, after remaining patient all game and doubled their points by scoring 15 in the 4th. The Redwolves ended up winning 30-27 in a battle of a game. Cole Hillegonds led the team with 13 points, Paul Blanchard was just behind with 11 points, and Max Walden added 6 points. Only 3 players scored but everyone contributed on the defensive. Zeke Turner played lights out defensively the whole game and stood out as an impact player.
