On Tuesday night the JV Boys basketball team played against cross town Tecumseh. The game started slow for the Redwolves as the Indians pressured the ball really well. Tecumseh took the first quarter 17-6. Dacari Garrison, and Cole Hillegonds had the 6 points in that quarter. The boys took that first quarter as a lesson and battled themselves right back into the game in the second quarter. Picking up the defensive pressure, pushing the ball up the floor, and being great teammates passing the ball around. This led to an 18 point second quarter with Paul Blanchard, and Daejuan Garrison adding their names to the scoresheet. At halftime the Redwolves trailed 24-30. The Redwolves again had a slow start to the third quarter with the pressure from Tecumseh. Falling behind again by double digits the Redwolves again decided to fight back into the game with Cole Hillegonds having a big quarter om the offensive end scoring 8 of the 10 points. The third quarter finished with Tecumseh leading 34-46. In the fourth quarter the Redwolves made a big push to win the game. Again playing as a collective unit on both ends of the floor the Redwolves were within 4 points with a minute left to play. Owen Barnhart hit a late three to cut the lead to 2 points but it was too late. The Redwolves fell 55-53, in a great game with many lessons learned. The team fought till the very end no matter the score and had great enthusiasm for each other throughout the whole game. Cole Hillegonds led the team with 20 points, Dacari Garrison, Daejuan Garrison, and Owen Barnhart all added 8 points. Paul Blanchard added 5 points, and Max Walden added 2. The Redwolves are eager to get to play again Friday December 6th, at home against Hillsdale.
