BLISSFIELD HIGH SCHOOL: 41

The Boys JV basketball team traveled through the fog Thursday evening to take on the Royals of Blissfield in a rematch of a Double OT thriller in which the Redwolves came up on the short end of the stick back in mid December. This time, the Redwolves would turn the tide and come away with a 45-41 LCAA victory to pick up their 10th win of the season. The JV team improved to 10-3 on the season and 6-2 in the LCAA.

After a slow start, the Redwolves offense settled in and began to get things rolling about the halfway point of the first quarter and took an 11-8 lead. It looked as if Clinton would take control of the game, but the offense came to a screeching halt, as the Redwolves managed only 4 points in the second quarter. However, the defense held serve as Blissfield was only able to manage 8 points themselves, which was enough to take a 16-15 lead heading into halftime. Clinton came out of halftime keeping the defensive pressure up, while findinng some scoring on the offenseive end to take a 27-21 lead into the final frame. The Redwolves extended their lead to as much as 12 points in the 4th quarter by a 39-27 score. The team would knock down their final points from the free throw line, making all six of their attempts in the closing minutes of the game to keep the Royals at distance and earn the win.

Three Redwolves would finish in double figures on the night, led by Ronan Stelzer's and Dacari Garrison's 12 points. Louie Della-Badia finished with 11 points, all coming in the second half. Cole HIllegonds added six points and Owen Barnhart chipped in 4 points on the night. The team received great contributions from Brandon Ruhl, Jacob Pizio, Angel Rubio, and Broden Manchester off the bench.

The team will take on the Panthers of Stockbridge in a non-league home game on Tuesday night to kick off homecoming week.
