The boys junior varsity basketball dropped another close contest Tuesday evening at home to Summerfield.  The game was a story of two different halves.  The first half saw the Redskins in control, leading right up until the last possession of the half.  Summerfield forced a turnover and converted a lay up to tie the game right before the halftime buzzer sounded.  Summerfield was able to carry that momentum into the second half where they led for the entire half and were able to pull away at the end of the game to earn the victory.  Clinton was able to stay within two baskets until the very end when they had to force pressure that resulted in free throw makes or lay ups for Summerfield. 

Tommy Burt lead the team in scoring, finishing with 12 points while also collecting 5 rebounds.  Jacob Huddleston had his best all-around performance scoring 7 points to go with 11 rebounds. Davey Campbell did a little bit of everything scoring 4 points to go with 4 assists and 3 steals.   

This is the third game of the season that the team has had opportunities to win the game late.  The boys are going to need to improve their shooting performances moving forward if they hope to win these types of games.  As a team, the Redskins shot 31% from the field, including only 9% from three and 33% from the free throw line.  

Up next, the JV team will look to bounce back on Friday (December 14th) night as they will travel to Morenci for a 5:30PM start.
