Unfortunately, the Redskins were as cold as the outside air was on this night shooting the basketball.  On an evening when the team couldn't manage to find the net, their defense kept them in the game which gave them a few opportunities to win or send the game to overtime.  In fact, a surge at the end of the first half that extended into the second half saw the team built a nine point lead, forcing Manchester to take a timeout near the half way point of the 3rd quarter.  However, the lead quickly evaporated due to miscues including turnovers that led directly to baskets, and shots that couldn't find the basket.  In the end, the Redskins JV fell 36-34 in the first game of the season.  Learning how to play with a lead, and making plays down the stretch will be an area of focus moving forward.  Makai Cruz led the team with 13 points, while Tommy Burt chipped in 9 points to go with his 10 rebounds.  As a team, the Redskins shot 22% from the field including 15% from three.
