Game 1:

The Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves made quick work of the Onsted JV Wildcats on Thursday, claiming a decisive 14-5 victory.

Onsted struck first, putting a run on the board in the top of the first inning. However, Clinton responded immediately in the bottom half, taking a 3-2 lead thanks to a defensive error, a groundout by Cyle McLeod, and another by Roman Roberts—each bringing in a run.

The Wildcats managed to tie things up at 3-3 in the second with a lineout RBI, but Clinton reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the frame. Jake Halchishak drew a bases-loaded walk, giving the Redwolves a 4-3 edge.

Onsted tied the game once more at 4-4 in the third, capitalizing on a wild pitch. But the Redwolves broke it open in the bottom of the third with a single from Roberts, a sacrifice bunt by Ayden McConnell, and another Onsted error—scoring three more runs.

McConnell earned the win on the mound for Clinton, allowing just two hits and four runs over three innings, while striking out five and walking five. Wyatt Cooley came in to notch the save.

Clinton's offense came alive with 10 hits, led by Lucas Coughlin, who went 2-for-3 out of the eighth spot in the lineup. Roberts, Zack Andrews, Lucas Goetting, and Caleb Ernst each drove in two runs. Daejaun Garrison was a force on the basepaths, swiping three of Clinton’s seven stolen bases. The Redwolves also showed patience at the plate, drawing six walks.

Game 2:

Jake Halchishak delivered a stellar performance on the mound Thursday, striking out 12 to lead the Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves to a commanding 14-2 home victory over the Onsted JV Wildcats.

Halchishak went the distance, allowing just two runs on eight hits across seven innings while walking only one batter.

Clinton jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first, plating four runs. Kolton Pruss grounded into a fielder’s choice, Roman Roberts drew a bases-loaded walk, Max Walden was hit by a pitch, and Bronson Handy singled to left—all contributing to the Redwolves’ fast start.

In the second inning, a bases-loaded walk by Wyatt Cooley pushed the lead to 5-0.

The Redwolves sealed the win with a five-run explosion in the top of the seventh. Ayden McConnell doubled in a run, an error allowed two more to score, Pruss added an RBI walk, and Roberts capped the rally with a run-scoring single.

Cyle McLeod made the most of his at-bats, going 1-for-2 with two RBIs, while Roberts led the team with two hits in four trips to the plate. Halchishak showcased his speed as well, swiping four of Clinton’s seven stolen bases.
