The Clinton Junior Varsity Redwolves dominated the Napoleon Junior Varsity Pirates 11-1 on Friday, powered by a strong start with six runs in the first inning. An error contributed to one run, while Caleb Ernst’s double brought in another. Roman Roberts also doubled, driving in two runs, and Daejaun Garrison added a single that scored two more.
In the second inning, the Redwolves extended their lead by scoring five runs on four hits. Roberts singled to score one, followed by an error that brought in two runs. Lucas Goetting then singled, driving in two additional runs.
Cyle McLeod earned the win for Clinton, pitching a solid inning where he allowed just two hits and one run, while striking out one and walking none. Ashton Warner took the loss for the Pirates, pitching one and one-third innings and giving up 11 runs (three earned) on six hits. He struck out two batters and walked two.
Roberts played a key role in the Redwolves’ offensive effort, finishing with three RBIs and going 2-for-2 at the plate. He was supported by Garrison and Ernst, who each collected two hits. Clinton's aggressive base running saw them steal five bases throughout the game, and their defense was flawless, committing no errors. McLeod made the most plays in the field with two.
